Our offer
Possessive adjectives (adjetivos posesivos) express possession or ownership.
Unlike English, they reflect the gender and quantity of the thing being owned, not of the owner.
Examples:
Spanish possessive adjectives have two different forms:
Take online language lessons with a professional teacher
Unlike the short forms, the long ones emphasize who the owner is or contrast one possessor with another.
Examples:
Singular | Plural form | English translation |
---|---|---|
mi | mis | my |
tu | tus | your (sing.) |
su | sus | his/her/its + formal you |
nuestro / nuestra | nuestros / nuestras | our |
vuestro / vuestra | vuestros / vuestras | your (pl.) |
su | sus | their + formal you |
The short forms are placed before the nouns.
Example:
Mi amiga se llama Lorena. (My friend's name is Lorena.)
Spanish our and your are the only possessive adjectives which are declined into masculine (nuestro/vuestro), feminine (nuestra/vuestra) and plural (nuestros, nuestras / vuestros, vuestras).
Examples:
The forms "su" (singular) and "sus" (plural) mean his, her, formal you and their. The context will help you to determine the person the adjective refers to.
Examples:
Singular form | Plural form | English translation |
---|---|---|
mío / mía* | míos / mías* | mine |
tuyo / tuya | tuyos / tuyas | yours |
suyo / suya | suyos / suyas | his, her, formal yours |
nuestro / nuestra | nuestros / nuestras | ours |
vuestro / vuestra | vuestros / vuestras | yours |
suyo / suya | suyos / suyas | theirs, formal yours |
*These forms carry the accent mark.
The long forms are placed after the noun they modify.
Example:
Las camisas tuyas son todas blancas. (Your shirts are all white.)
All long forms have a a masculine, feminine and plural forms.
Examples:
Suyo and suyos refer to a male (he), female (she) or plural subject (they). The context will help you to determine the person the adjective refers to.
Examples:
Me gustan los zapatos suyos. (I like his/her/their shoes.)
Of mine, of yours, of ours are other English translations of the long forms.
Examples:
Carlos es un amigo mío. (Carlos is a friend of mine.)
Pay attention to the adjective placement and opt for the short or the long forms.
1- Es un amigo ? (Is he a friend of yours?)
2- Miguel está buscando cuaderno. (Miguel is looking for his exercise book.)
3- Aparcamos coche delante de la iglesia. (We parked our car in front of the church.)
4- Los abuelos tienen 75 años. (Our grandparents are 75 years years old.)
5- ¿Quieres conocer a unos amigos ? (Do you want to meet some friends of mine?)
6- sillas están aquí. (His chairs are here.)
7- apartamento no es tan grande. (Your apartament is not that big.)
8- Las camisas están encima de la cama. (His shirts are on the bed.)
9- ¿Dónde está móvil? (Where is my mobile phone?)

My name is Zoe and I’m a native English speaker from the UK!
I speak four other languages though so I understand how nerve-racking it can be to study a new language and I understand what the typical errors are so I will support you when you make mistakes and I will actually encourage you to make mistakes because ultimately that's how we learn!
I believe I’m an incredibly communicative, open teacher, having taught in 4 countries. Establishing trust and a channel of communication in the classroom adds more life and substance to our lessons where all student needs are met. I like to think of myself as sympathetic, and because I’d been in classes where I was far from challenged and excited, I take having fun in the classroom very seriously (paradoxical pun intended). I have extensive experience teaching both adults and children at different levels and age groups, so I come with a lot of resources, ideas, and activities that are fun, practice different sets of skills and sub-skills, and student- centered.
I can help you with job applications, cover letters, exam preparation, pronunciation and general English.
Since I value learner autonomy and consistently promote it, I encourage my students to be open about their needs so our lessons would be as informative and efficient as possible.
I’m curious, inquisitive, and constantly eager to
experience more, learn more, and of course, teach more! Ireland
was a tad too small for me, so I’ve always had the urge to travel the
world. So far, I’ve taught in Mexico, Italy, Egypt, and Spain – where I
currently reside. I have many creative hobbies such as reading,
drawing, and photography, and a very special fascination with
crime documentaries (perhaps I was a lawyer in my past life).
I embarked on my EFL journey 4 years ago, and I decided it was the
job for me. It all started in the South of Italy where I got the chance
to teach both adults and children and knew I’d found my dream
job. After a while, I knew I had to take my wanderlust and love for
education elsewhere, so I hopped on a plane to Mexico and took my
teaching a step further. In 2018, I landed a job with the British
Council in Egypt, where I took my classroom experience and
married it with pedagogy by doing vocational courses such as the
TYLEC and DELTA M1. Aside from these courses, I did IELTS
Teacher training, and Teaching English in the Early Years

knowledge was yet to be quenched, so I applied for DELTA M3 to

My name is Lisette and I live in Cape Town, South Africa.
I have had 2 years of tutoring experience in English and am currently tutoring a 5-year-old boy in the UK.
I am a certified ESL teacher after completing a 120-hour course through www.letstefl.com which is affiliated and accredited with WTEFLAC (World TEFL Accrediting Commission). This enables me to teach beginners, intermediate and advanced students.
I am very patient and believe in having a great relationship with my students, so learning revolves around trust, and making mistakes is natural! I strongly believe in motivation and praise and building your self-confidence on your English language journey. I will be with you all the way!
My learning materials depend on what lessons you require. If you are a beginner, we'll be using fun flashcards and props. I have an interactive board that I use as well as a whiteboard and playing games and checking your comprehension as we go along. Not to mention rewards and lots of fun!
For intermediate students, we can expand your basic English, learn about different pop cultures, what you are interested in, music, and social media.
If you just need basic English to shop, to use local transport or to order in a restaurant, I'll provide examples that are simple and easy to remember.
I look forward to hearing from you and any questions that you may have.

(I ONLY OFFER GROUP CLASSES ON HERE :) )
Hello, my name is Rebecca Rygaard.
Recently graduated as a teacher of Danish and English for the primary and lower secondary schools in Denmark, according to the Bachelor's Degree Program in Education, from University College Copenhagen.
I am born and raised in Denmark, and am a native speaker of Danish.
In my teaching I use a communicative approach, focused on having us communicate with each other and produce language to learn it. We will learn both from "input" (what we hear, read) and "output" (what we say, write).
This communicative approach will be focused on "real life" and authentic situations - that means that I'll actually base the teaching on my students lives. I.e. we could be talking about what has brought you to want to learn Danish. There will be authentic language only in this class - not language about hypothetical situations, that you might not ever need.
As part of this method, we'll be using task-based learning - you'll often learn the language through "tasks" in my class, with the point that you'll have to use communication, in cooperation with your peers (or me) to solve them. It's a lot of fun, I guarantee.
You will also be learning about the Danish culture, as I believe culture and language go together, and one cannot be understood without the other (I very much look forward to introducing you to Danish customs, traditions and food).
I'll be focused on your progress, rather your 'errors', as I don't believe in teaching a language by focusing on student's "mistakes", but on their potential. There is an "interlanguage" that is the language that emerge in between your original language, and the language you're trying to learn. And it is only normal that this language is a bit of a mix, that is ever-evolving.
With me, you'll also have the important advantage that I am both a teacher of English and Danish, and therefore know how the languages correlate.
I've learned about all of these aspects "the communicative approach", "task-based learning", "cultural studies" and "interlanguage" and a "functional view on language learning", as a part of my education, and I know they are all a part of recent research in the field.
I have prepared a lesson plan for beginners - which can both be used for group- and single lessons. But I can also create a specifically crafted lesson plan just for you and your needs/level, or if you already know Danish, but just want to improve it.
I hope we meet, and look forward to helping you learn some Danish :)

Hi everyone!
My name is Kilian, I am 29 years old and I am a Spanish guy from Canary Islands.
A year ago I graduated in Spanish Language at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and I also finished the course that accredits me as a DELE examiner for levels B1 and B2 by the Instituto Cervantes. After studying abroad for six months (Czech Republic) I knew that I wanted to dedicate myself to teaching Spanish as a foreign language, so here I am!
Of course, my mother tongue is Spanish, but I also have an intermediate level of English which can be very useful to solve some doubts that may arise during the classes.
So if you want to learn more about Spain, about the fourth most spoken language in the world, and one of the most widely spoken languages in the planet, I look forward to share with you all of my knowledge in our class!
All the best!

In recent years I have worked as an Academic Director at a Language School in northern Spain. My job duties there included designing intensive Spanish & English courses for beginners’, intermediate and advanced levels, as well as teaching both on-site and via Skype. This constant interest has allowed me to become familiar with techniques and tools that are essential in today´s second language learning, such as the materials used by the Cervantes Institute and the most renowned publications and blogs in the field of language teaching. Most particularly, I have made extensive use of audiovisuals and creative writing activities in order to develop consistent, effective courses.
As an on-line teacher, I have steadily used different technology applications in language learning. My tasks as a teacher included setting homework and giving feedback to my students, according to their needs, on a regular basis, as well as keeping accurate register of their attendance and progress.
Graduated in Hispanic Philology and Masters in Applied French, I have always kept up with my teaching training and have recently completed a Cambridge CELTA course for English teachers This further training has provided me with the familiarity to different teaching methodologies, which have proven to be extremely useful in my classes.
My hobbies: art cinema, hiking, reading and watching and playing basketball.

Dear future student,
My name is Mélanie, I am 40 years old, I am Belgian and I live near Brussels in Belgium.
I have 7 years of experience in teaching French as a foreign language. I have a degree in Modern Languages and Literature. I have an agrégation in higher secondary education. French is my mother tongue. Additionally I have a C2 level in Spanish.
I have taught adults (beginner - advanced) in various training institutions (CLL, CVO Semper, ...). I have taught both large and small groups. I can therefore adapt my teaching methods according to the number of people.
As far as my teaching methods are concerned, I create communicative exercises.
I always try to get the student to express themselves as much as possible. In case of groups, I create individual exercises, in groups of two or four.
I give homework in which the students have to write a short text related to a grammatical concept they have seen. I also give additional grammatical exercises.
I also test my students' knowledge. For example, during the course, I listen to my students and comment on their oral productions. I also do small listening comprehensions and reading comprehensions.
I can also explain certain grammatical points or translate certain words into the student's language if it is needed, but generally I always try to teach in the target language.
If my student is looking for a job, I can also help him/her to write his/her CV and cover letter and also prepare his/her interview.
If my student works in a company, I can also prepare exercises specific to the company's field. I have given courses to warehouse workers for Delhaize, to plumbers, to students in Tourism.
I also taught asylum seekers.
As far as teaching material is concerned, I use a lot of material from Zexperts fle https://leszexpertsfle.com/toutes-les-ressources-fle/ which I adapt to the objectives of the lesson. I also look for exercises in FLE manuals such as Totem, Edito, Alter Ego, Expression orale... Naturally, I adapt the exercises according to the needs of the student. I also look for songs in YouTube.
