They give an answer to questions starting with "how much?" or "to what extent?".
Examples:
- Juan es muy alto. (Juan is very tall.)
- Me gusta mucho la paella valenciana. (I like Valencian paella a lot.)

Placement
Verb-modifiers are usually placed after the verb they refer to.
Example:
Me gusta mucho el helado casero. (I like home-made ice-cream a lot.)
Some of them may be placed before the verb they modify.
Examples:
- Sólo bebo vino tinto. (I only drink red wine.)
- Estaba tan cansado que apenas conseguí llegar a casa. (I was so tired that I barely made it home.)

I love teaching people from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and I strongly believe in online language teaching as a very efficient method of learning. I hold a BSc in History and Archeology and a MA in teaching Modern Greek as a foreign language, both from the University of Athens. I have a strong experience as Exams Assessor on State Exams for the «Certificate of Attainment in Greek». I am currently teaching Modern Greek as a foreign language online at Avenues, The World School in New York, as well as to foreigners living in Athens, such as Embassies members and their families.
In my courses, I emphasize the importance of communication and the practical uses of language. I consider therefore communication as the most suitable approach, because it gives a lot of emphasis on realistic situations making the learner aware of how the language actually works (that does not mean that I don't give the same importance to the grammar rules and the syntax, especially to the advanced levels).
I have a deep appreciation of different learning styles and I am able to apply the corresponding teaching method to keep my students motivated and progressing at the right pace for them.
I use various teaching materials and I have also developed my own, based on my teaching experience in various settings and my academic background.

Hello, I'm Anaïs ! Native french but I've lived quite some times abroad, including 5 years in Canada! I've worked for various schools; whether in France, Canada and Japan. I have experience working with children and with adults. I went to College both in Canada and in France, where I graduated from Sorbonne University in International Cooperation (Master's degree). Yolanda is an excellent teacher. She structures her classes like a conversation to really help with speaking and listening, but also incorporates grammatical information. She also incorporates homework that allows you to practice reading and writing. All around excellent teacher whose teaching methodology works perfect for me!
