I offer smart and fun lessons for all levels and ages! I am a native Turkish speaker from Cyprus and an English teacher by profession. Alongside full-time teaching, I work as a freelance translator/interpreter (Turkish-English) on a part-time basis. I have extensive teaching experience especially with university students, secondary school students and adults. As a language teacher and a language learner myself, I am aware that everyone learns at their own pace and everyone learns in different ways. Therefore, addressing the needs of each student individually is crucial to my teaching approach. It is true that language learning takes time and commitment but online teaching has transformed the learning experience in such a way that, with the help of developing technology and the internet, you can accelerate your learning much faster than you can with traditional teaching methods. Some of the key elements in accelerated learning that I adapt in my teaching methodology are as follows:

Flipped Classroom:
In contrast to conventional teaching methods, students are provided with class material prior to the lesson. This allows them to practice what they have learnt during classroom discussions and activities.

Task-based Approach:
Traditional teaching approaches focused on the content that teachers thought their students needed to learn. This included a lot of emphasis on grammar. Task-based approach, on the other hand, focuses on the skills that the students want to acquire. The teacher no longer focuses on ‘what’ is taught but ‘why’ it is taught.

Lexical Syllabus:
In line with the task-based approach, lexical syllabus focuses on the vocabulary that the student needs to learn in order to perform a specific task. For example, the word ‘asset’ is essential for a business student, similarly, ‘biopsy’ is an essential word for a medical student.

My approach allows me to connect with students' previous learning experiences and knowledge and increase their reflection between what they learn and their life experiences. Overall, it is a student-centered, interactive, collaborative and communicative approach.

I have studied for several years in different institutions to obtain my degree. I started teaching Romanian years ago in Romania. Later on, I have also offered my help and support to Spanish students, as I have been living in Spain for many years.

The learning offered depends on the interest and age of my students. They can choose what suits them best, so I will adapt to the personal needs of each of them.

A mixture of traditional and new methodologies will be used to obtain satisfactory results for both parties: student-teacher.

We will be using study books, audio and video materials, all kinds of worksheets, games and of course conversations, which will lead the students to have a better pronunciation and oral comprehension.

In recent years I have worked as an Academic Director at a Language School in northern Spain. My job duties there included designing intensive Spanish & English courses for beginners’, intermediate and advanced levels, as well as teaching both on-site and via Skype. This constant interest has allowed me to become familiar with techniques and tools that are essential in today´s second language learning, such as the materials used by the Cervantes Institute and the most renowned publications and blogs in the field of language teaching. Most particularly, I have made extensive use of audiovisuals and creative writing activities in order to develop consistent, effective courses. 

As an on-line teacher, I have steadily used different technology applications in language learning. My tasks as a teacher included setting homework and giving feedback to my students, according to their needs, on a regular basis, as well as keeping accurate register of their attendance and progress. 

Graduated in Hispanic Philology and Masters in Applied French, I have always kept up with my teaching training and have recently completed a Cambridge CELTA course for English teachers This further training has provided me with the familiarity to different teaching methodologies, which have proven to be extremely useful in my classes. 

My hobbies: art cinema, hiking, reading and watching and playing basketball.

I have been teaching Italian to adults since 2010, individual and group lessons. I have a degree in English and French, and I have a diploma of interpreter in German. In the summer I teach Italian in full immersion courses in Tuscany, where I live.

I really enjoy helping people to learn more not only about Italian as a language but also the rich Italian culture.
Usually I divide my lessons into three parts: a bit of grammar (which is unfortunately very useful...but I can teach you some tricks to learn without much effort!), a listening/reading comprehension part usually with videos, songs, docs about Italy and then ... we talk about Italy!

I am originally from Vancouver, B.C., but I live in Peru now because I love sunshine. I am a very experienced teacher, as you can see in my resume, and yet I am still having a lot of fun. I have 4 years of experience as a mentor of an autistic teenager. I dived more into teaching English during my work in Colombia as part of my project for environmental education.
I realized how important it is to have a good time when learning English. I am always talking to my students about THEIR interests and fears; about what do they want to improve and what do they like to do. I design the lessons for the student; then the learning happens on its own.

I am currently specializing in Spanish and German. Over the years, I have given private lessons in Italian, English, Spanish, and Japanese, with Japanese being the most requested at the moment. Regarding Japanese, I had the opportunity to teach the language at an American college with a native Japanese teacher, applying the method that they use to learn their own language. I have been an English teacher for over 5 years. I have had the opportunity to teach English in different countries as well as to different age groups ranging from 2 years to 18 years old and adults.

I have a CELTA and CAM certificate for teaching general English to adults and I also have a TYLEC certificate from the University of Trinity College for teaching young learners.

I like to design classes that are interactive and fun for students and I also like to work with small projects. I find it is important to create a dynamic and friendly atmosphere with the students.
