I offer smart and fun lessons for all levels and ages! I am a native Turkish speaker from Cyprus and an English teacher by profession. Alongside full-time teaching, I work as a freelance translator/interpreter (Turkish-English) on a part-time basis. I have extensive teaching experience especially with university students, secondary school students and adults. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced learner, I can help you (or your child) improve your language skills with customized lessons and authentic teaching material.

As a language teacher and a language learner myself, I am aware that everyone learns at their own pace and everyone learns in different ways. Therefore, addressing the needs of each student individually is crucial to my teaching approach. It is true that language learning takes time and commitment but online teaching has transformed the learning experience in such a way that, with the help of developing technology and the internet, you can accelerate your learning much faster than you can with traditional teaching methods. Some of the key elements in accelerated learning that I adapt in my teaching methodology are as follows:

Flipped Classroom:
In contrast to conventional teaching methods, students are provided with class material prior to the lesson. This allows them to practice what they have learnt during classroom discussions and activities.

Task-based Approach:
Traditional teaching approaches focused on the content that teachers thought their students needed to learn. This included a lot of emphasis on grammar. Task-based approach, on the other hand, focuses on the skills that the students want to acquire. The teacher no longer focuses on ‘what’ is taught but ‘why’ it is taught.

Lexical Syllabus:
In line with the task-based approach, lexical syllabus focuses on the vocabulary that the student needs to learn in order to perform a specific task. For example, the word ‘asset’ is essential for a business student, similarly, ‘biopsy’ is an essential word for a medical student.

My approach allows me to connect with students' previous learning experiences and knowledge and increase their reflection between what they learn and their life experiences. Overall, it is a student-centered, interactive, collaborative and communicative approach.

I'm really passionate about languages, and I can speak and teach English, Spanish, and Turkish. I am currently learning Korean, French, and Arabic. Here, I place all the materials we will use during our class, including a Word file where I will write your feedback for every class (New Vocabulary, Pronunciation Corrections, and New Grammar) so you can check it whenever you like.

I also create interactive Quizlet and Kahoot exercises that we will use during the class but that you can also use to practice on your own so you can reach your goals more quickly and in a fun way. In addition to this, we will use videos, songs, podcasts, articles, grammar PPTs and exercises, and whatever material you are interested in using.

I am a translator by training and a compulsive traveler by birth. I love cats and salsa music. English has always been my passion and I'm here to help other people feel confident when speaking, writing and working with this language.

My teaching method is a very personal mix made of tips and methods taken from different schools of thought, many first-hand experiences I have had in the field, all combined with my mission to help students overcome their fears and blocks when it comes to English.

At university I studied translation and interpreting in Spanish, English, Russian and French and have been a language teacher since 2013, which is something I love.

I have lived in France and have British and Spanish family, so speaking several languages is something I do and enjoy every day. I love conversation, grammar, studying new vocabulary and learning about the differences between cultures in order to learn from them.

I have taught privately, in academies, in primary schools and high schools and in companies, so I have experience in many areas and with all ages and levels.

I have prepared students for official Cambridge, Trinity London and Aptis exams, but I have also helped to prepare for exams specific to some university degrees.

I have also prepared students to take the Spanish DELE exam.
