The Spanish alphabet or abecedario is made up of 27 letters. It also includes an extra letter, the ñ, which is not part of the English alphabet.
The Spanish abecedario is divided into two main groups:
*Historically, Ch/Ll were considered distinct letters in Spanish. However, nowadays, they are not considered letters anymore according to the Real Académia Española.
The table here below displays the letters of the Spanish alphabet and it will give you some tips on how to pronounce them alone and in combination with others letters.
A, B, C, CH, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, LL, M, N, Ñ, O, P Q, R, RR, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z
Letter | Letter name | Pronunciation tips |

B/b | [be] | The Spanish B is pretty similar to the English one but sometimes it might sound like a V, especially when it occurs between two vowels. Bonito (pretty) Abecedario (alphabet) |

CH/ch | [che] | China (China) |
D/d | [de] | Diente (tooth) |
E/e | [e] | Elefante (elephant) |

I/i | [i] | Iniciar (to begin) |
J/j | [jota] | The letter jota always sounds like a harsh H (like G before e and i). It never sounds like the English J of Juliette. Julio (July) |

L/l | [ele] | Lago (lake) |
LL/ll | [doble ele] | This letter sounds like Y in English yellow: Lluvia (rain) |

Ñ/ñ | [eñe] | This letter sounds like NI in English onion: Dueño (owner) |
O/o | [o] | Coco (coconut) |
P/p | [pe] | Padre (father) |
Q/q | [cu] | The Spanish Q is always followed by the letter U: Quebrar (to break) |
R/r | [ere] | Cara (face) At the beginning of the word, the Spanish R is way stronger than when it stands alone: Rosa (rose / pink) |
RR/rr | [doble ere] | Doubling the R make it stronger, indeed: Perro (dog) |
S/s | [ese] | Saber (to know) |
T/t | [te] | Tomar (to take) |
U/u | [u] | This letter sounds like OO in English cool: Mucho (many) |

W/w | [uve doble] | Wifi (Wi-Fi) |
X/x | [equis] | This letter sounds like KS in English socks: Sexto (sixth) In place and person names, it is close to the Spanish jota though: México (Mexico) |
Y/y | [ i grieca] | Yogur (yogurt) |
Z/z | [zeta] | This letter is mostly pronounced like the English S: Zapato (shoe) |

In my classes students will not only learn English to use in the classroom. Students will learn English to use in real life. I cater my curriculums specifically to my students and their goals. I include lessons and activities to help students learn how to speak, listen to, understand, write, and read the English language. I offer classes for all ages and levels. I use accredited books and sources, however I also use common items seen in the United States as learning tools to give students an authentic experience. I hope to see you in the classroom!

My name is Laia, and I am an infant and primary school teacher, specialized in additional languages. This year I have finished my second degree in Early Childhood Education. Previously, I had completed my degree in Primary Education in English. This last year I have combined my studies with a job in the reception classroom of a school. My main aim was to teach newly arrived pupils the official languages of my country and helping them to adapt to their new environment.
In addition, I have been an English teacher and monitor with students of different ages. I can adapt to my students, looking for the best way to individualize their learning.
Furthermore, I did the 120 hours course with TEFL this summer as I decided to delve more deeply into teaching English as a foreign language to help my students in a better way.
I would describe my classes as dynamic and entertaining. The aim is that during the first class we get to know each other so we can find out what your needs and goals are.
For my classes, I will use different materials that I used in my previous jobs, for example, games, role plays, flashcards, grammar summaries, or sample exams.
Finally, I would like to talk about my hobbies so that you can get to know me a little better. I am passionate about art and sea sports. I love watching films and series of any kind of genre. I also enjoy reading, especially when it is a mystery or action.

¡Hola! I’m Paul from Venezuela. I’ve been living in France since 2012, where I work as a fully qualified Spanish teacher at the university level, with up-to-date training.
I have extensive experience preparing students for DELE, SIELE, Bright, and CLOE exams, as well as general Spanish practice.
I specialize in helping students improve their Spanish pronunciation and grammar, assisting many in developing a more natural and fluid way of speaking.
I have worked for various universities and associations for over 10 years. Currently, I teach online for CoLanguage and engineering schools in France, mainly to university and high school students.
My sessions focus on encouraging students to use Spanish effectively, building their confidence, and helping them find their own natural way of expressing themselves in my language.
Looking forward to seeing you!
Paul

Dear Student,
I am Daniela, a qualified teacher of Bulgarian as a foreign language.
I will be delighted to help you learn Bulgarian. I am originally from Sofia, Bulgaria. I am passionate about languages; I am fluent in English and Spanish, Czech and Slovenian. I have helped many foreigners now living in Bulgaria to better understand and speak with confidence in their social environment. I am always interested in their motivation to learn Bulgarian and I adapt myself completely to the needs and tastes of each student. My teaching style is very communicative, I teach through dialogues, and real situations so my students start speaking from the very first lesson. I make my classes fun and enjoyable for all students, as I believe it is very important that the student enjoys learning, that they look forward to the next class. We often talk about culture, traditions, history and all kinds of topics that interest the student and in this way, progress is much more natural and faster.
Many thanks.
Best regards, Daniela

Hola, qué tal!
I have always enjoyed working with languages, culture, education and people. I am originally from Venezuela so Spanish is my native language and I have been living in Belgium since 2009. My degree as Master in Industrial Sciences is equated here.
I am a teacher and since 2018 I have been teaching Spanish to adults. I am able to boost the self-confidence of my students. My lessons are for absolute beginners (direction level 1 and 2), intermediate (direction level 3) and advanced (direction level 4). Conversation is also possible. I focus on the four most important skills: speaking skills; listening skills, writing skills and reading skills. And also on grammar and spontaneous communication.
Teaching and language are just my passion and I would like to teach it to others. I work with adults and seniors, but know that every person learns in a different way. Pleasure in learning and daring to communicate are paramount to me: We use Spanish book and workbook; audio material (Spanish songs), card games and more!
Los espero!
