I am a native Lithuanian speaker with a bachelor degree in English philology and teaching English as a secondary language. Since I was a Lithuanian teacher for American, Swedish and Dutch diplomats and ambassadors at the embassies in Vilnius for seven years, having helped them to get to know to our culture and pass exams with good scores, I can offer my rich teaching experience and gained skills to my online students.

My name is Tiera, and I am a native English speaker from Dallas, Texas, in the United States. I have over three years of in-person teaching experience with young learners aged 4-14. I also have a 120-hour TEFL certificate earned in August 2020. I have a high school diploma and spent approximately three years studying criminal justice and Spanish at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, USA.

My philosophy is simple; teach with compassion, patience and confidence and your students will be greatly rewarded. I teach all levels of English learners, with young children and adults alike. I love to talk about sports, food, and nature in my classes. I prefer to use TPR, or the “total physical response” method with young learners because it is engaging and interactive. I can assist with correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling, as well as conversational English. This can include “free talk” topics as specific as interview English, business English, or anything that interests the students. I can also assist students with pronunciation and accent advising.

I practice and adopt methods according to each student’s ability. It involves assignments customised by me, daily one-to-one conversations with my students about different topics, timely tests, picking up suggestions on what is working for the student and what is not working and changing methods which would best fit the student. I’m a Finance Analyst with an experience of more than 3 years in the Corporate Industry. I also take online English classes with the utmost motive of a better community of English Speakers. In recent years I have worked as an Academic Director at a Language School in northern Spain. My job duties there included designing intensive Spanish & English courses for beginners’, intermediate and advanced levels, as well as teaching both on-site and via Skype. This constant interest has allowed me to become familiar with techniques and tools that are essential in today´s second language learning, such as the materials used by the Cervantes Institute and the most renowned publications and blogs in the field of language teaching. As an on-line teacher, I have steadily used different technology applications in language learning. My methods are focused on generating a good teacher- student relationship and making classes as dynamic and as interesting as possible. I use a mainly visual approach and encourage as much creativity as possible.

I like to use a combination of articles online plus a variety of presentations which are as interactive as possible. Text books are sometimes used to reinforce certain things taught in class.
