The Spanish imperative makes a distinction between an affirmative imperative (imperativo afirmativo) and a negative imperative (imperativo negativo). They are formed differently.
Imperativo afirmativo
The imperativo affirmativo is used to tell someone TO DO something in a direct manner. More simply put, sentences in the imperative mood are commands.
- ¡Limpia! (Clean up!)
- ¡Escribe una carta! (Write a letter!)
- ¡Id a casa! (Go home!)
