The present perfect (Spanish: pretérito perfecto compuesto) is one of several compound tenses used in Spanish and English. As in English, it is used to indicate that the action may be still going on. The pretérito perfecto compuesto has two parts:
Pretérito perfecto compuesto = haber (presente) + participio

In English we use the perfect tense to talk about what has or hasn't happened today, this week, this year, or in our lives up to now. In Spanish we use it in a similar way.
We use the present perfect (pretérito perfecto compuesto) in Spanish with the following words:
Spanish | English | Examples |
---|---|---|
esta semana/ este año/ etc. | this week/ this year/ etc | Este año he tenido muchos constipados. This year I have caught a lot of colds. |
hoy | today | Hoy he ido nadar. Today I went swimming. |
todavia no | not yet | Todavia no he comido. I havent had lunch yet. |
ya | already | Ya lo he visto. I have seen it already. |
ultimamente | lately | Ultimamente he comido mucha fruta. I have eaten a lot of fruit lately. |
hasta ahora | up to now/ so far/ until now/ to date | No me han dicho nada hasta ahora. I havent got any news so far. |
Hoy ha sido un día especial. Es mi cumpleaños. No he ido a trabajar y me he levantado más tarde. He desayunado unas tostadas con tomate y he bebido un café con leche. Después, me he vestido y he salido de casa para comprar el periódico. Me he sentado en una terraza al sol y he leído el periódico.

Today was a special day. It's my birthday. I haven’t gone to work and I've gotten up later. I had some toast with tomato and I a coffee with milk for breakfast. Then I got dressed and left the house to buy the newspaper. I have sat on a terrace in the sun and have read the newspaper.

My name is Yaledis. I am a Petroleum Engineer. I am from Colombia but I am living in Hungary now. Living in another country has given me an appreciation for other cultures and deepened my understanding of the Spanish language by seeing it from a new perspective. I love to learn about people from different backgrounds and hear their stories so I've been happy to be a Spanish teacher for the past few years.
I have 3+ years of tutoring experience. I have worked with students of different ages and levels: beginners, intermediate or advanced. I have worked in high schools, online teaching platforms, and also as a freelance teacher, so I have extensive experience in teaching methods to make sure that my students meet their goals. I can offer Spanish lessons for adults, middle school and high school.
I have excellent communication skills, I always have a positive attitude, and I am very patient, I am an active listener who believes in allowing students to have their own voice. I combine different resources and techniques to help you improve.
I have the Teaching Knowledge test certificate:
Module 1 - Background to language learning and teaching
Module 2 - Lesson planning and use of resources for language teaching
Module 3: Managing the teaching and learning process
I also have a certificate of Effective Classes granted by Pearson Education and Teacher of Spanish for Foreigners granted by the Carpe Diem University and Professional Training Center.
I have experience creating pedagogical projects that allow daily interactions, interactive and playful practices that facilitate the learning of a second language. Likewise, I have helped high school students prepare for the ICFES state exam, a standardized test applied to students who are in the last year of high school in Colombia in order to give them official results that allow them to access higher education, for which I have experience teaching students with specific objectives.
Most of my classes are given in Spanish, so you can start thinking in Spanish faster, reducing the need to translate from your native language. I can speak in English if it is absolutely necessary.
I make explanations of grammar and vocabulary in communicative contexts, in this way you can begin to integrate what you have learned in different dialogues. I will create different situations that can arise when communicating, for example, ordering food in a restaurant, going shopping, asking for directions to get to a place, etc.
My classes follow a structural approach that will allow you to understand the easiest grammar rules first and then the more complicated ones. For this, I use the curriculum designed by the Miguel de Cervantes Institute. I use role-plays, games, readings, videos, audios, movies, articles, and mind maps
My lessons are student-centered, where I will guide the student and they will be doing most of the talking. I usually ask a lot of questions so that you can practice your speaking. I am an energetic and positive teacher and like to have fun with my students. I believe in positive reinforcement and letting the student know it is okay to make mistakes.

I'm an English language teacher for more than 15 years with CELTA ( Cambridge English Level 5 Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages); for sure, my lessons are active and updated. I can work with different levels mostly with adults.
I've been teaching lessons on line since October 2019 using Zoom.
Students' participation is maximised in my language lessons, for sure they are student-centred; in other words, I ensure plenty of student talking time through the use of communicative activities and consistent pair checks, clarifying the target language to an appropriate depth and in a student-centred way.
Come and join my classes, you´ll never feel like regreting your decision!!!

According to my students I am patient, dedicated and arrive to each class with a positive and happy attitude. As a teacher I am optimistic and enthusiastic and always try to transmit a boundless energy and yet straight-forward -guide. I know how to handle the change for different situations and to be flexible to every one according to their needs and goals.

The only I ask from students is that they want to learn and to share their stories as I will

My name is Tiera, and I am a native English speaker from Dallas, Texas, in the United States. I have over three years of in-person teaching experience with young learners aged 4-14. I also have a 120-hour TEFL certificate earned in August 2020. I have a high school diploma and spent approximately three years studying criminal justice and Spanish at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, USA.
My philosophy is simple; teach with compassion, patience and confidence and your students will be greatly rewarded. I teach all levels of English learners, with young children and adults alike. I love to talk about sports, food, and nature in my classes. I prefer to use TPR, or the “total physical response” method with young learners because it is engaging and interactive. I can assist with correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling, as well as conversational English. This can include “free talk” topics as specific as interview English, business English, or anything that interests the students. I can also assist students with pronunciation and accent advising.

Hi, I'm Dajana, I'm 31 years old and I come from Naples.
I am graduated in Foreign Languages and Litteratures and I have a II Level Master degree in Teaching Italian as Second Language.
I have teached italian to foreign people, above all adults at any age, in several NGOs and social cooperatives in the last 4 years.
How will I teach you italian? By playing!
I know that studying a language by reading a grammar book and mechanically completing the attached exercises can be boring and above all does not train your mind.
Learning instead should be a pleasure, so I like to use small funny videos, songs, puzzles and so on.
I also prefer the inductive method so that you can understand how Italian works on your own and then fix the grammatical rules together.
That way you’ll learn Italian without even realizing it!
But all this depends on you and how you prefer to study. I will be very happy to adopt the method that suits your case. The most important thing is that you get your goals with pleasure!
Don’t you think studying can be a pleasure? Join me and you’ll find out!
Cheers,
Dajana

Learning Spanish is no big deal now, it´s a huge accomplishment. I´m here to help you to learn this marvelous language as easy as possible. I count on a 10 years’ experience of teaching Spanish. Therefore, for whatever reason – travel, apply to university, DELE exams, speaking to family or friends, work, or love- I will guide you along the way, from beginner to advanced.
First of all, I need to know your goal because it would let me design a plan especially for you to help you achieve it. Generally, we will follow the communicative approach. We don’t just dive right into verb tenses or lists of vocabulary words. Instead, I prefer to teach you the ins-and-outs of the Spanish language in a more different way! So, we will be using a variety of resources such as movies, songs, essays, stories, news and interviews, etc.
If you want to know more about me, I should say I´m studying Advanced Hispanic Studies for a PHD degree at the University of Valencia. I hold a master´s degree in General Linguistics and a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language. As a teacher, I’ve held online classes, face to face classes and several courses at different institutes and the University of Applied Science and Technology in my country of origin, Iran.
One thing more, I am a big fan of learning new languages and like to do it enjoying it. I will always make sure that you are enjoying learning Spanish.
Don’t hesitate more and let’s start together. Why don't you just book your first session with me?

Hi, my name is Alessia, I teach Italian to foreigners.
I got a degree in "DAMS" (Disciplines of Arts, Music, and Entertainment), a degree in "Italian Literature, language, and Culture - Cultural Promotion Curriculum", the CEDILS certification from the Ca' Foscari University of Venice for the teaching of 'Italian to foreigners and I am a CELI examiner of the CEDIS Lazio network. I am available to help you with your projects if you need help writing for example a theme, a letter, or your curriculum vitae.
An example of one of my lessons to learn the language in a more fun way? Through the analysis of a scene taken from an Italian film, we will analyze the syntax, grammar, idioms, and puns, we will hear the accents so that you too can speak like an Italian.
I can help you learn Italian in many ways, personalizing the lessons as much as possible according to your needs.
