I have an Honours degree in Quantity Surveying from the Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. I have 2 years experience in tutoring in University. The beauty of teaching English online is that there is often an exchange between student and teacher beyond the content of the lesson plan itself. I will be interacting with students of all ages from a variety of nationalities which gives me an opportunity to learn about their languages. My teaching method is I do, you do and we do, this method allows me to interact fully with my students and make the lessons more fun and easy to understand.

Recently, the health situation has prompted me to leave my home country and start a professional retraining. Passionate about English since childhood, I chose to do the TEFL Course to be able to teach the language. Having just graduated with distinction, I would now like to move on to the next step of my apprenticeship : Teaching.

My first lessons will be based on the PPP method or Presentation-Practice-Production. This method consists, first of all, in presenting or having people guess the target language before giving learners the opportunity to practice it through controlled activities. During the last step of the lesson, students have the opportunity to produce the language in freer activities.

I will try, as much as possible, to give my students a way to discover the target language for themselves, based on their existing knowledge. Also, since the practice of a foreign language requires oral comprehension, my lessons will be entirely given in English.

I hold a MA in Language Didactics and New Technologies in Language Communication. I am native Greek speaker and also I speak fluently in English. I also know French in intermidiate level and I am basic user of Russian language.

I am teaching Greek language as a foreign language and also I'm teaching ancient Greek language. I have knowledge and expertise in intercultural education. I received further education on multilingual and multicultural subjects, as well as practice on how to influence students to improve their perspectives through activities or suitable educational material.

My interest for continuing education and self-training led me to attend online courses on translation and translation tools. Through this year I gained knowledge about this skill and I am always trying to improve my translation skills.
