My name is Mélanie, I am 40 years old, I am Belgian and I live near Brussels in Belgium.

I have 7 years of experience in teaching French as a foreign language. I have a degree in Modern Languages and Literature. I have an agrégation in higher secondary education. French is my mother tongue. Additionally I have a C2 level in Spanish.

I have taught adults (beginner - advanced) in various training institutions (CLL, CVO Semper, ...). I have taught both large and small groups. I can therefore adapt my teaching methods according to the number of people.

As far as my teaching methods are concerned, I create communicative exercises.
I always try to get the student to express themselves as much as possible. In case of groups, I create individual exercises, in groups of two or four.
I give homework in which the students have to write a short text related to a grammatical concept they have seen. I also give additional grammatical exercises.
I also test my students' knowledge. For example, during the course, I listen to my students and comment on their oral productions. I also do small listening comprehensions and reading comprehensions.
I can also explain certain grammatical points or translate certain words into the student's language if it is needed, but generally I always try to teach in the target language.

If my student is looking for a job, I can also help him/her to write his/her CV and cover letter and also prepare his/her interview.
If my student works in a company, I can also prepare exercises specific to the company's field. I have given courses to warehouse workers for Delhaize, to plumbers, to students in Tourism.
I also taught asylum seekers.

I also look for exercises in FLE manuals such as Totem, Edito, Alter Ego, Expression orale... Naturally, I adapt the exercises according to the needs of the student. I am TEFL/TESOL certified from the Asian College of teachers along with a specialization in Young Learners Program. I teach using the Grammar Translation method, Communicative Language Teaching, Community Language Learning,Natural Approach and the Lexical Approach. I believe in knowing the basics of English grammar and linguistics and preach the same to my students and young learners.

I use videos, audios and pictorial representations required in all these methods to facilitate language learning in young students. I am a TESOL certified. I have taught many students English and German for beginners in my home country for the past few years. I was an intern at one of the best law firms in Zimbabwe for two years. My passion in English teaching was derived at a young age in school . I was the most fluent, therefore I taught other students of my level and below who had difficulties. They understood my interpretations and explanations. This made me a competent tutor who possesses a mastery of English. I believe that the best way of tutoring is to make sure that both the student and tutor reach an equal level of understanding using a friendly platform. A tutor should be more of a friend in order to understand the student's perspective. I believe that a tutor should be polite in order to be accessed. Being approachable in this case is understanding that English is not the student's native language, therefore the tutor should expect that the student will ask a lot of questions. The best tutors are welcoming and easy to approach .A good English tutor should have the ability to build caring relationships with students. In teaching, knowledge about the Subject matter is not enough. Mostly, learning would be impossible if the student is not comfortable during the lesson. If a student feels that a tutor cares for them, he/she will probably perform better because he/she can feel the support that a Tutor is willing to give them. Great tutors not only care about their job but also the welfare of a student. A charismatic tutor must be respectful. In some circumstances, a tutor will have multilingual classes wherein a student is from a different country. In that case a charismatic tutor must be sensitive to cultural differences and traditions of their student. A student should feel safe and welcomed. Most importantly, a great tutor is passionate. The most important value an English tutor should have is passion. A tutor faces Students everyday having different cultures and styles of learning. That is the reason why tutors should be passionate. This happens when tutors think teaching is not only a job for a living, it is also living for the job. My attitude reflects all the character traits mentioned above and many other qualities that make me your best tutor!

    Lithuanian language is one of the Baltic countries languages. Some people are travelling to Lithuania, some of them are working or studying over there. So it's really good to know how to say very simple words, as hello, how are you, good mornng, thank you, you're welcome, where, how and etc. It's necessary because the main language is Lithuanian in that country 

    I am lithuanian and was learning other languages. So I can understand you very well, how do you feel in foreign country without language. You want to say something, ask or express yourself, but you can't. I would like to teach you. I like helping people and I have almost 10 years experience in teaching with different age people from different countries and culturies.
