I am a local Hong Konger. Cantonese and traditional Chinese is my native language. I am living and studying in Taiwan now. Before that, I have... been teaching Chinese in Vietnamese for 2 years. That's why I can speak both 3 languages. I will focus on the pronunication, grammar and oral skills. For exmaples, most of foreigners feel difficult on the tones. I will give you some tips such as read the word with the music sheet. For oral skill, I will tell you when should you use the sentence rather than just read that and without any background information. For example, in English, we will say "May I have a bill". In Cantonese, it should be "excuse me, pay the bill", "'唔該，埋單 m4 goi1, maai4 daan" In Mandarin, it should be " hello, buy the bill" 你好，买单(買單) nǐhǎo，mǎidān“ . It took me a long time to find my real passion in my (work) life. After studying in two universities, graduating in two bachelors, travelling the world and working abroad for several years I realized public education is where my heart lies. I went for the third time back to the university to get my teachers degree.
I have been a classroom teacher for 5 years in Dutch primary schools before I moved 4,5 years ago abroad to Colombia where I became specifically an English teacher. I am specialized in teaching in pre-, elementary, middle (secondary) and high school. I have been teaching in all different grades and all primary subjects in English and got specialised in Teaching English as a second language. Most schools where I have been working were inspired by the philosophy of 'Vygotsky'. A philosophy and methodology I also use in my private classes. How will I teach you italian? By playing!
I know that studying a language by reading a grammar book and mechanically completing the attached exercises can be boring and above all does not train your mind.
Learning instead should be a pleasure, so I like to use small funny videos, songs, puzzles and so on.
I also prefer the inductive method so that you can understand how Italian works on your own and then fix the grammatical rules together.
That way you’ll learn Italian without even realizing it!
But all this depends on you and how you prefer to study. I will be very happy to adopt the method that suits your case. The most important thing is that you get your goals with pleasure!
