Complete the sentences with the correct form of the verbs in brackets to form the Dutch imperative.
Tip: There are four different usages of the imperative in Dutch.
- To give an order or command - first person singular (ik) is used.
- To give a more polite order or command - the second person singular (u) is used.
- To give a command in general - the infintives of the verbs are used.
- To make a proposal with 'laten we' (let's) - the infinitives of the verbs are used with 'laten we'.

It took me a long time to find my real passion in my (work) life. After studying in two universities, graduating in two bachelors, travelling the world and working abroad for several years I realized public education is where my heart lies. I went for the third time back to the university to get my teachers degree.
I have been a classroom teacher for 5 years in Dutch primary schools before I moved 4,5 years ago abroad to Colombia where I became specifically an English teacher. Juf Elvira has great intuition and attention towards the student's needs from the first (introduction) lesson and tailors suitable curriculum to meet these needs. The dialogue is made only in Dutch so the mind does not waver between English or Dutch, it stays focused on making the dialogue happen in Dutch, one way or the other. She has good attention to detail and corrects any mistakes, and also gives hints about small nuances, which will help the student grasp the native way of pronouncing some words.
