Learning a foreign language is a beautiful and awe-inspiring journey which is not strange to me. Growing in Europe and living in Canada has... shaped my thinking abilities to see beyond the surface of individual’s potential to study. It remodeled my senses in a special way to be able to respond with tact and compassion to the needs of my students. In the same time it taught me the value of persistence and creativity. These abilities have helped me to master the art of teaching. Every student makes me a better friend, family member and a person. So far, I've helped different age groups to converse freely, to read, understand and love both English and Bulgarian. Beside that, my students not just improve their grades at school. Some of them became English teachers themselves. No two students are exactly alike. That's why I mostly use personalized learning method. It builds a learning experience that addresses the unique abilities of each student. Another method of teaching that I use is Learning by experiment. In that way students learn by doing. I create experiences for them to see the concepts in action. I found out that students tend to remember better when they see and then discuss what they learn from what they saw. I have been a teacher for more than 20 years. I am French and I studied English in France but also in England. I live in Indonesia. I am really... into adaptive teaching and innovative teaching methods using different new technologies and different skills. I create my own material and my purpose as a teacher is to adapt to my students and keep them motivated and eager to learn. I always choose subjects related to my students' background and environment, always in context and using as many authentic documents as I can. My teaching really goes beyond mere language learning but provides openness to different cultures (French but also English, American and Australian) English and French are real passions for me and I love comparing and studying both languages through my readings and different language contacts. Teaching a language is loving it and understanding it perfectly. My advantage is to know both English and French and to be able to explain to non-French or non-English speakers how things work, make relevant comparisons when possible. French is my mother tongue but I studied English thoroughly and lived in the UK. Now I am a teacher in an International school in Indonesia. I have been living here for nearly 5 years and I enjoy the opportunity to teach students from different backgrounds and different origins. Getting back to my experience as a teacher, I would say my career has been so far characterised by diversity : diversity of schools, of year levels, of interests (from adults at the university to primary school children or again, disadvantaged students who did not really see the point in learning English while living in France, or again eager and learned students who aimed at entering prestigious universities). Hi everybody! My name is Simone. I’m 23 years old and I’ve got a BA in Applied Foreign Languages from Altiero Spinelli Municipal School for... Interpreters and Translation. What’s my dream? Working for the European Institutions. Meanwhile, I worked as a steward for events, I worked in the hotels as a tour leader, I worked as a waiter and….. I taught foreign languages! I started with Latin, English, French, Spanish and Chinese to middle school, high school and university students. In 2017 I worked for two months as an Italian teacher in a Chinese cultural association, where I taught Italian to students from 6 to 17 years old. First of all, I like to teach people not to be afraid when they speak another language, that’s why I immediately start the conversation using foreign languages. I tend to focalise more on pronunciation, which is fundamental for me. However I also think reading and writing are equally important; maybe at the beginning you’ll start reading school texts and then we’ll move on newspaper articles. Culture is also really important. It’s good that students understand the geographical widespread of the languages they study and also that they know some traditions of those countries. I also like to use for this purpose videos I find on the Internet (especially Youtube). If you’ll choose me, you’ll improve not only your language knowledge, but also your culture in general…….
