I understand it very well because I noticed it many times in my 6 years experience as a teacher and examiner. Firstly, I promise you that a foreign language is an open door to another mentality, to another culture. I’m writing from my experience; I’m Romanian and I’m learning French since I was 8 years old. It’s not an easy language, especially at advanced levels, yet in my opinion, it’s the most elegant language. French transferred to me not only an elegant way to express myself - even in my mother tongue but also a different way of thinking; I read in French many classical French writers. During my master studies, I had also the chance to live among French students and I borrowed from them a great way to schedule a working day. I honestly think that learning French or Romanian could mean for you adding value to yourself.

How do the classes work? A class lasts 45 minutes. I'll send you the materials we are going to use in class beforehand so you can print them. I am a BA in Education graduate, with vast experience in primary, secondary and higher education levels, as well as in other activities related to education. I believe I have a diverse background which makes me a very adaptable teacher and with a lot to offer.
Most of my experience is in high school ,in adult education and university students. I always try to keep the classes informal and relaxed. It's important that the students like the class, and that they feel comfortable. That results in progress, and that's exactly what we want.
The focus is on conversation (so pronunciation!) and understanding but also reading and writing are important to improve active vocabulary.
Now grammar is also important to understand the structure of a language, but I only touch grammar when needed, so that depends a lot on the level (from A1 to C2).
For lower-level students who still need some native language in class, I speak fluently Spanish, Dutch and some German and French.

At first, teaching online was a challenge, not for the knowledge, the didactic or the way to get to students, but for the whole new set of resources at my disposal and how to use them effectively. The variety of tricks with the camera, magic, puppets, the limit was my imagination; that feeling was really overwhelming. But, as I said at first, I took this as a challenge, a new way of expanding my inner resourses and finally, widening my understanding about teaching.
