My name is Jao. I am 31 years old and I am from the Philippines. I finished Bachelor of Arts major in English and I also have a certificate in Teaching English as a foreign language or TEFL. I have more than 9 years of teaching experience. I love talking to people and helping them to realize their potentials in speaking English. I am patient and friendly towards my students and I always make sure that they feel comfortable whenever they talk to me.
I have wide experience in teaching learners of all levels. And I generally specialize in communication. I can say that I have become skillful in coaching not only students but also young professionals to realize their potentials in speaking English. And throughout my years of teaching, I have eventually developed strong work ethics.
About my teaching style, I first try to figure out the strengths and weaknesses of my students, and try come up with appropriate techniques and strategies to help them overcome their weaknesses and focus on their strengths. I like engaging my students so I give lots of time for them to speak. I also talk with them about their personal opinions or experiences so that they can integrate the lesson accordingly.
With me, you can practice speaking in English and/or Filipino without worrying of being embarrassed. Feel free to commit mistakes in grammar or pronunciation, and from there, we will improve your skills. I can also assist you in preparing for your language proficiency tests like IELTS. I have wide variety of materials and I will specifically customize yours based on your needs.
