I currently have fifteen-years of teaching experience, working in the public, private, and corporate sectors, teaching an array of many different learners, including, children, young adults, and mature students. Creating interesting and engaging lessons that allow learners to reach their potential, and express themselves openly and increase self-confidence is an important element of my teaching approach.
I studied art at Edinburgh College of Art, gaining an MFA in 2007. In later in 2010 I went onto study to become an English language teacher at The London Teacher Training College.
Additional strengths include: course planning, setting clear and achievable objectives, time management, and selecting the appropriate learning materials and resources.
I have been described by my students as being, open, friendly and approachable, a good communicator with patience and empathy.
In addition to my teaching experience, I have been an entrepreneur, a cultural integration mentor, and worked as a professional artist. Theses experiences demand the very highest levels of collaboration with others.
Problem solving, effective communication, planning, and attention to detail are valuable skills from my work outside of teaching that I bring to the learning environment.
