Hello. My name is Katerina Fragkopoulou and I am a linguist. I have finished my PhD studies in neurolinguistics with a topic related to Greek language and Alzheimer's Disease. I have experience teaching Greek as a second language. I have taught online and face to face at the Modern Greek Language Teaching Centre of the University of Athens. My teaching method is mostly interactive and conversational because I believe that through conversation students can better acquire the language. At the A1 level, I use a lot of cards and pictures for lexical acquisition and to get my students familiarised with the Greek alphabet. Then, gradually I try to teach some conversational features, e.g.small phrases so that they can introduce themselves, ask for some information and communicate in Greek for the basics. Gradually, I teach some grammatical phenomena, such as noun phrases, gender features and the use of some basic verbs.
I teach from different materials (course books, exercises books) and refer to some sections in grammar and lexicons as a supplementary or a secondary source of knowledge.
