I have worked abroad for several years and I have excelled in all English classes, especially Cambridge Exams preparation lessons (PET, FCE and CAE) for more than 7 years now.

I combine old-school teaching with technology, so yes, I will strongly suggest writings and homework as I believe it is the best way to consolidate a language. However, you do not need a notebook in class if you don't want to, as I will upload all the notes I'll take on the shared screen with you in a shared folder.
I tend to use books for a very simple reason: they follow a clear and straightforward syllabus for each level, and each unit contains all sorts of practice: speaking, reading, listening, grammar/vocabulary (use of English) and writing. I don't usually do the readings and listenings in class, as I believe this is something you can do on your own and it's best to take advantage of our time together to learn actively and speak.
Said books are always complemented with other materials such as clips or short videos, articles, extra activities, all sorts of games and so on.
