Greek Language Lessons

Γεια σας! Hello to everyne! I am Stella and I am a native Greek speaker and a qualified Greek teacher.

I was born in Crete, where I work as a Greek language teacher, giving private lessons, face to face or on-line, to people of all ages, from all over the world.

My qualifications include: a bachelor's degree in Philosophy Greek Linguistics from Patras University, as well as certification in Teaching Greek as a Foreign Language, from The Center for the Greek Language in Thessaloniki. In addition, I hold a certification from Aegean University in Special Education.

I have over 9 years experience of teaching Greek, both face to face and on-line to people of all ages, and all over the world.

My first teaching Greek language experience was in 2010, when I started giving private Greek language lessons and since then I have never stopped. Additionally, in 2018 I successfully completed the Program “Routes in Teaching Greek as a Second/Foreign Language” which provided me with a certified specialization in teaching Greek as a foreign language.

So, what does a typical session look like with me?

Overall, I customise my teaching style according to my students' goals and needs. I highly believe that learning has to be personalized, by taking into account that diversity is an important aspect. For that reason, my teaching method has a student- centered approach, focusing on the specific needs, interests and pace of every student of mine, considering always that the main motivation is the learning process. In that way I try to meet every time the needs of my students by adapting the curriculum ( pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, speaking, listening, reading, writing..) to my students' characteristics.

Moreover, I believe there is no magic button to enable you to learn a language overnight. I believe it is a combination of desire, practice, effort and discipline. But don't worry, I will be there to help you with that, as much as you need and can help steer you in the right direction on your language learning journey.
