Having 15 years of experience in teaching both English and Brazilian Portuguese, I can see clearly that eliciting my students, asking them for repetition (according to the level, type of person. Repetition is used in context), as well as using playful activities are a pillar to make them feel more comfortable with the language, helping in the learning process. Eliciting also provides self confidence as well as builds self-esteem by facing English in an easier way.
As I´m dynamic, positive and have good humour, my classes become relaxing and fun, and my students can learn seriously by laughing freely, feeling confident.
I put my heart and soul into teaching, helping my students to learn and also engaging them into positive thoughts, ideas,. I can say that my classes are very rich regarding learning and sharing.
Teaching refugees was fulfilling and when my English students progress, even a little, fulfilling is the response within me.
I lived for 3 years in the US and 1 year in both Italy and France. In Europe I taught both English and Portuese from beginners to advanced natives.
