After having worked as a private tutor for more than a decade in Germany and Austria, mainly in the subjects of Mathematics and English, I moved... to Southern China in August 2017. Since then I worked in the International department of two different schools covering Years 5-13. There, I continued teaching the aforementioned subjects, in addition to German and ICT. There, I also assisted students in preparing for their DSD I and DSD II examinations. Concerning IELTS, I take this test regularly myself in order to fully understand what is required in order to pass it at a certain level. This approach also helps me to stay aware of any subtle test changes that might be introduced over time. I would define my teaching philosophy to be personalised, interactive and based on posing questions and fostering critical thinking rather than on giving answers in the first place.
