I have been living in Barbados for more than 25 years. i am a graduate... and an officially certified language teacher of both English and Spanish. I also hold two Masters Degrees in the teaching of these two languages (One is in Applied Linguistics for the Teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language and the other one is in Teaching English as a Foreign Language). As for the teaching methodology, I use an eclectic one, in other words, I combine the best elements and the most functional aspects of other approaches and methodologies to create a unique mixed-method which can cater and be adapted to the needs, interest, motivations, preferences and abilities of the students which can definitely lead them to achieving their goals. The teaching materials used can range from realia (real life objects or iitems) to clippings, magazine articles, afiches, online exercises and activities, Youtube videos, ready-made or home-made audio-recordings, websites, songs, poems, printable materials, etc. I have also had the opportunity to teach English at different levels, especially on various courses geared to obtaining the Cambridge First Certificate English Examinations.
