Conversation classes with a native and verified teacher
Exam preparation with online classes and lessons from a certified teacher: English - ECCE
Hi, welcome to my profile! My name is Alessia and I currently live in Italy. I spent a few years in the United States where I deepened my... knowledge of English and American dialects. I am currently specializing in Spanish and German. Over the years, I have given private lessons in Italian, English, Spanish, and Japanese, with Japanese being the most requested at the moment. Regarding Japanese, I had the opportunity to teach the language at an American college with a native Japanese teacher, applying the method that they use to learn their own language. I will help you in a simple way; conversation is really important for learning a language, and a good method is even more fundamental. No days spent on textbooks are needed; consistency and fun during lessons are the most important parts of learning. You will see results right away! I am patient, flexible, and will adapt in every way to your personal needs. I look forward to seeing you on my profile for a trial lesson and discovering an easy and fun method to learn a language as soon as possible. Read more

Hello World of ESL learners I'm an experienced ESL, ELA, TEFL and TESOL independent teacher and transmedia writer. I began ESL teaching in... 1990, and returned to the field in 2018. I've a decade of combined teaching experience. My CV is a short read: I've made it a 1-pager: it's concise and comprehensive and I strongly suggest you take a look at it to get a comprehensive view on what I bring to the table as an ESL educator. It's important to stress my approach to ESL instructing is learner-centric, so you may have heard many utter this phrase, but is it just semantics, hyperbole to stand out in a crowded space? Well let me elaborate a little bit on learner-centrism as the core value of my approach to ESL teaching: The banking system of education really came into its own in the post-WW2 world and the west began to slowly eliminate the Humboldtian system from its mainframe. My preference is to mimic as far as is practical the Humboldtian and Classical Liberal Arts systems and I incorporate insights from the rich field of ESL research and development. My experience illustrates that organic modes of learning have yielded the best results with reference to capacity, fluency and confidence. Gardner's 'Theory of Multiple Intelligence Centres' is as influential as the aforementioned educational systems, and I include insights learned from the field of ESL development, research and trends. Today English is to the digital age what Latin was to the 3rd century. It is the Lingua Franca of the world and presents an exciting development in the history of languages and human beings communicating from and to almost every corner of the world. It's a great time to be learning English. There's never been a better time to be an ESL learner or teacher, especially if you're a serious lover of languages and language learning! My library of content contains top tier course materials, e.g. programmes developed by Cengage Learning and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. All my course materials conform to global benchmark standards such as the Common Core State Standards (CCSS-USA), International English Language Testing Standards (IELTS - UK, Australia) and the International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE-UK). My capacities include testing and assessment according to benchmark standards globally recognised such as the aforementioned and also CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Course materials are included in the fees. I deliver my lessons via Zoom, Zhumu or Voov: all three teaching/meeting apps enable learners to join the meeting room right from your browser for your convenience Best, Desiree Lourens Read more

I really enjoy teaching especially English. I have bachelor degree qualification in film writing and live performance and my qualification... required a lot English, especially writing. I love the activeness in teaching English because in 2020 till 2021 I was an assistant English teacher. the most rewarding about it is having spending time with students and actually going in deep depths, and helping students to improve in speaking an reading. my methods in teaching will start of as conversational. That is me basically just trying to get to know you and how well you speak and having to have a conversation in English. Than will do more readings, prepared and non prepared speeches, punctuation, grammar and articulation. The learning materials I will be using are novels, plays, films and a textbook. My work and having to teach is very important to me, so instead of rushing to accept the first thing that comes way, I am taking my time and being selective to make sure my role as a teacher is the right on to make sure my students achieve their goals. Hello there, My name is Joanne Greene, I am 37 years old and live in sunny Johannesburg, South Africa. I am a native English speaker. I have... completed a number of certificates, namely Business to Business Marketing, my International TEFL Certificate, a Cambridge Assessment Certificate through Future Learn and I also have practical experience teaching English online. My background is tutoring and educating Health Care Professionals around the country, this involved me facilitating many training sessions in a classroom set up. I currently tutor two children aged 8 and 11 four times a week for the last two years. The younger one Catherine started on intermediate and has now moved up to upper intermediate and Josh started on upper intermediate and is now on advanced. I have also been teaching a 55 year old Bulgarian lady for the last 3 years. Vania started on elementary and has now moved through intermediate to upper intermediate level. My methods for teaching is mostly standard for all ages and what is important to note that every student is on their own journey, has different goals and learns at their own pace. It is important as a teacher that I can identify individual needs and provide the best tailor made learning experience for them. Firstly it is important that my students do most of the talking, this helps me to check the understanding of the vocabulary, pronunciation and sentence construction. Secondly I try to elicit as much information from my students to ensure maximum learning takes place. Another one of my very important teaching methods is self-correction and what I mean by that is if a student answers incorrectly I won't jump in immediately and give the correct answer, I would rather give a hint or clue. Most of the time the student is able to answer correct the second time around. This is very important because this is really where learning takes place, when a student discovers the answers themselves. I also believe very much in positive reinforcement, focusing on tasks completed successfully and accurately helps students to stay motivated and builds their self-confidence. Lastly it is vitally important that the vocabulary learned is retained in long term memory and how I do that is by giving the students stories and sentence to write using the vocabulary learnt and by also looking at the vocabulary in different context. I implement all these methods with TPR. I use various media and teaching materials to teach my students, some of which I have created myself such as printouts and flashcards. Some websites that I use are Live Worksheets.com, Grammar Monster.com, Breaking News English.com and ESL Flashcards.com. Through my teaching experience I have learnt the importance of and mastered my skills in building rapport with my students. Always been punctual for lessons, doing sufficient lesson preparation and creating content that I know they will find interesting and informative. Having integrity - I strive to do what I say I will do and at the time I said I would do it. Read more

My name is Maria and i have vast educational experience in adullts and teenagers ages 12-50 as a supply teacher in London and Athens. My... learning path in teaching started at the age of 18 where i decided to study French Language and Literature. Also, i have followed an online Tefl course for Teaching English to non-native speakers and one year course in General Linguistics. My teaching materials are changing constantly depending on the needs of my student and the weaknesses or strengths that they are facing. Usually, i prefer the method of exposure and self-correction which enables the student to choose his or her way of dealing with his/her confidence as language is an inner way of expression and as a mental process is based on multiple factors. I tend to provide group of specific words and discuss the relevant topic which also attracts the attention of my student and how he/she/they can develop their own approach in the foreign language that they are being taught. I am more than happy to discuss with you further information concerning my methods and materials and book a free trial. Regards Maria Read more
