Hi everyone! Всем привет! My name is Konstantin and I’m a teacher of English and Russian languages. I graduated from Moscow State Linguistic University with a major in Linguistics and now I study teaching of Russian as a foreign language at Omsk State Pedagogical University. I’ve been working as a teacher of Russian at the non-profit organization Together One New York for a year now and I enjoy doing that! During my work I focus on interactive, communicative and student-centered approach to improve the students’ fluency as well as accuracy. I do my best to tailor the study plan and classes to achieve the best way of language acquisition which satisfies the needs and interests of my students. In my work I try to implement modern and up-to-date learning materials. You don’t have to worry about the necessary study materials as I provide all of them. I was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I have been an educator in the Ann Arbor area since 2000. That is when I graduated from the University of Michigan. Later, I obtained a Master’s Degree in school counseling from Eastern Michigan University. In the years that followed, I taught English, theater, Spanish, and spent ten years as a high school counselor in Ann Arbor. Now, I live near Ann Arbor with my wife, daughter, son, and our dog, Pomzilla. We say he is part Husky, part Pomeranian, and part Godzilla! That's how we made his name.

I have lived in the US and Spain and have traveled to South America and Europe. Someday I would also love to visit Asia, Australia, and Africa. When I can, I love to go to baseball games in Detroit, Michigan. I would love to talk to you about your own travels! Or we could discuss where you live, your job, your hobbies, your amazing family, your cute pets, or your future plans.

My teaching style is fun and I focus more on conversational English. I love to joke and have fun in lessons. I would also love to work with you on your writing. One group I know I can really help are people applying to universities. You DO NOT have to be in this group to meet with me. This is just one area I know a lot about.

I have helped hundreds of my students gain admission to these highly selective universities as well as dozens of other schools across the US and around the world, from Ivy League to less selective state schools to community colleges with open admissions!

We can discuss the application process, examine possible essay prompts, write/revise essay drafts, and explore strategies for maximizing chance of admission into universities, and look at financial aid. If you are working on SAT or ACT preparation, I can help you with this too!

I helped hundreds of students with their college applications. Many of them would go on to the University of Michigan or Washtenaw Community College in our city, while others went to Oregon, UCLA, MIT, Brown, Ohio State, and many other great colleges.

I believe I can use my expertise to help you improve your writing and conversation skills. I offer my students a very structured program to help them improve their overall English level. In our trial lesson, I will evaluate your level and we will discuss your goals. I will then provide you with a coursebook and supplementary materials suitable for your level and needs. We will use these both together in class and outside of class for homework. My name is Mélanie, I am 40 years old, I am Belgian and I live near Brussels in Belgium.

I have 7 years of experience in teaching French as a foreign language. I have a degree in Modern Languages and Literature. I have an agrégation in higher secondary education. French is my mother tongue. Additionally I have a C2 level in Spanish.

I have taught adults (beginner - advanced) in various training institutions (CLL, CVO Semper, ...). I have taught both large and small groups. I can therefore adapt my teaching methods according to the number of people.

As far as my teaching methods are concerned, I create communicative exercises.
I always try to get the student to express themselves as much as possible. In case of groups, I create individual exercises, in groups of two or four.
I give homework in which the students have to write a short text related to a grammatical concept they have seen. I also give additional grammatical exercises.
I also test my students' knowledge. For example, during the course, I listen to my students and comment on their oral productions. I also do small listening comprehensions and reading comprehensions.
I can also explain certain grammatical points or translate certain words into the student's language if it is needed, but generally I always try to teach in the target language.

If my student is looking for a job, I can also help him/her to write his/her CV and cover letter and also prepare his/her interview.
If my student works in a company, I can also prepare exercises specific to the company's field. I have given courses to warehouse workers for Delhaize, to plumbers, to students in Tourism.
I also taught asylum seekers.

I also look for exercises in FLE manuals such as Totem, Edito, Alter Ego, Expression orale... Naturally, I adapt the exercises according to the needs of the student.
