I am an Italian teacher who started his academic career obtaining a Bachelor's degree in "Modern language and Letters" (English and German), then i specialized in teaching Italian for foreigners, obtaining a Master's degree in "Italian language and Culture" and a II level University Master degree in "Didactics of Italian language".

My passion for languages comes from my interest in other cultures, from the desire to know the world and open my mind. I lived for a short period of my life in Dresden, Germany, to empower my German knowledge; i started to approach teaching there, because some students like me were interested in learning Italian, so they asked me to teach them something. Once back in Italy, i continued specializing in this teaching area.

I consider myself a trained teacher and able to grasp the individual problems encountered by my students during their language learning path, so the methodology I apply during my lessons tries to model itself according to the individual difficulties and according to the target student.

My lessons are addressed to all those who want to approach the Italian language or deepen previous knowledge for working, academic or cultural reasons.


The educational field has always been my passion. Since I was a student in the UK doing my BA degree in English Literature, I started volunteering to teach secondary school students and support them to feel more confident in school. I graduated from Newcastle University (UK) in 2006 doing my first Master's degree in Applied Linguistics and TESOL  after getting my CELTA (Cambridge certificate in language teaching) certificate as well from Durham University, UK. I worked as a TOEFL/IELTS teacher and Business English trainer for seven years. I was entitled to a supervisory position as a head of department in a language institute, so I decided to do my MBA at Wales University  to enhance my skills in the planning training materials to teach Business English and building a professional community for teachers.

My education has helped me be part of several international educational institutes like the AMIDEAST in Dubai and Abu Dhabi (UAE), and the Centre of British Teacher (CfBT), EDT in Abu Dhabi and the UNHCR in Lebanon.
 
Moreover, I was part of The Humanitarian Response course that took place at Harvard University where I learnt in depth about topics related to Protection, Emergency and Security Management. 
 
Besides my passion and education I believe my experience relates to this position specifically in several points, I will mention a few below:
 
·       My MA has exposed me to edtech through using CALL (Computer assisted language learning) during my MA and carried out projects related to that.
·       My current experience as an operation manager and QA of Reports at EDT for the ministry of education has enhanced my analytical skills of data collection and analysis. Besides, I led a survey to drive change using data analysis to achieve customer satisfaction at assist.ae.
·       All my roles needed me to create a strong relationship with several stakeholders, build a community of open ideas and solving problems to achieve bigger goals while keeping updated and connected to the educational field.
 
Finally being a teacher for seven years teaching English as a second language paved the way for me to advance into the other roles and relate so closely to teachers and students.

Hello, I'm Anaïs ! Native french but I've lived quite some times abroad, including 5 years in Canada! I've worked for various schools; whether in France, Canada and Japan. I have experience working with children and with adults. I went to College both in Canada and in France, where I graduated from Sorbonne University in International Cooperation (Master's degree). Before that I studied in Intercultural Communication and I traveled around the world to understand other cultures. I was born in İstanbul and I lived there. I hold a bachelor degree in cinema and television at İstanbul Şehir University. During my university years, my stories have been published in major Turkish literary magazines. After my graduation I have been specializing in children's book illustration and literature. I founded children's book publishing house in Turkey. The name is Yıldız Tozu Publishing and my books were released. I worked as an editor-in-chief in the company. I was finding books in the world and I was publishing them in Turkish. I am practically and professionally working on Turkish language and literature. Later on, I moved France to continue my education and works about literature and art. Currently, I am learning french.

I have experience in teaching Turkish in years. Furthermore, I speak English very well (TOEFL B2) and French (B1) it is advantage for students who are beginners.

Here my methodology when I teach Turkish:

I will use the grammar books and my presentations, time to time.

For speaking practice: illustrations, daily conversations
For listening practice: Turkish songs, movies, series
For reading practice: news and articles about Turkey (for advance students), stories, picture books (for intermediate students), texts from language books (for beginner and intermediate students.)

If students need to focus specific area like writing etc. I am designing my class according to that.

In addition, it is because I am using broad material about Turkish media, you will be familiar the culture and sociology of Turkey.
