Completing my International Baccalaureate at an international school in Taiwan, I studied Film and Television at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Hi, Mi name is Paul. I'm a certified (TEFL, ELE) teacher with over 10 years of experience in language teaching. I am actually teaching business clients and individuals.
I always try to keep the classes informal and relaxed. It's important that the students like the class, and that they feel comfortable. That results in progress, and that's exactly what we want.
The focus is on conversation (so pronunciation!) and understanding but also reading and writing are important to improve active vocabulary.
Now grammar is also important to understand the structure of a language, but I only touch grammar when needed, so that depends a lot on the level (from A1 to C2).
For lower-level students who still need some native language in class, I speak fluently Spanish, Dutch and some German and French.
The first class is free of charge, so just try it! I'm sure you'll like it.

Italian teacher. 32 years of experience in face-to-face classes with adults and adolescents. Bachelor's degree in linguistics. The classes are adapted to the needs of the student. I am originally from Reggio Emilia and I have a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Italian, English and German. Both degrees were obtained at the University of Applied Sciences ZHAW in Winterthur (in 2014 and 2016). For 12 years, I have been teaching Italian privately and tutoring adults and children of different nationalities (including Italians), from a beginner to an academic level. From a linguistic point of view, my strengths are an in-depth knowledge of Italian grammar plus "verbal creativity" (use of synonyms, different levels of connotation and register, specialized languages, ...).

My aim is to help my students reach their goals, whatever it might be. I don't insist too much on the achievement of certain levels (A/B/C), but I focus on the needs and preferences of each individual, which can range in any direction (from writing without mistakes to widening your vocabulary to getting by on holiday in Italy to understanding the logic behind a language ...). To do this, I set a first meeting exclusively to understand language level, difficulties, objectives, and deadlines of the person in front of me. This is the starting point to create a customized programme. This way, nobody will get bored: my student will play an active role in the learning process, having fun and falling more and more in love with the bella lingua :-)

My teaching techniques include an "entry test" to understand the student's linguistic "weaknesses", training in listening, reading, speaking, and writing and a "final test" to check improvements and learning pace. I select teaching materials with the students so that they are based on students preferences. These teaching materials might include translations, dictation exercises, dialogues, songs, videos (taken also from YouTube, Instagram, FB...), reading books and magazines. I am available for both live and online lessons.

I Offer English teaching, Phonics, word and sound pronunciation.
My lessons are aimed at children aged 2- 8.

I do general English conversation for older groups too.
