My name is Ashlyn, and I am a native English speaker from New Zealand :) I love to create lessons for my students to help them make their English language journey as enjoyable as possible! I am an online university student studying history and social anthropology.

I have two years of teaching experience in private English language schools, and I also have a CELTA certificate. Therefore, I know how to teach English effectively and create lessons to practice speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills.

Here are a few tips on how to get the most out of every lesson:
1. Review what you covered in your previous lesson.
2. Focus on things you had difficulty with. I will definitely go over them.
3. It is always a great idea to take notes during your lessons. It helps you stay more focused on what you are learning.
4. Feel free to ask me if anything has come up since your last lesson that you want clarification on. Your questions do not have to be prior lesson related, maybe you are just curious about how to say something.
5. Be sure you have completed your homework assignments. If you were not able to complete them, make notes about what stumped you. Were the instructions not clear enough, was the vocabulary beyond your level of comprehension, were the grammar rules too overwhelming, was there too much homework for the time you had planned to spend on it, and so on.
6. Contact me prior to your next lesson if there are any issues or changes you would like to make me aware of so I can have a chance to make changes to your learning plan.

My lessons are based on conversations. My method is to help you practice the language from the very beginning in spontaneous and direct conversations, using often role plays.

I am a TESOL certified. I have taught many students English and German for beginners in my home country for the past few years. I was an intern at one of the best law firms in Zimbabwe for two years. My passion in English teaching was derived at a young age in school . I was the most fluent, therefore I taught other students of my level and below who had difficulties. They understood my interpretations and explanations. This made me a competent tutor who possesses a mastery of English. I believe that the best way of tutoring is to make sure that both the student and tutor reach an equal level of understanding using a friendly platform. A tutor should be more of a friend in order to understand the student's perspective. I believe that a tutor should be polite in order to be accessed. Being approachable in this case is understanding that English is not the student's native language, therefore the tutor should expect that the student will ask a lot of questions. The best tutors are welcoming and easy to approach .A good English tutor should have the ability to build caring relationships with students. In teaching, knowledge about the Subject matter is not enough. Mostly, learning would be impossible if the student is not comfortable during the lesson. If a student feels that a tutor cares for them, he/she will probably perform better because he/she can feel the support that a Tutor is willing to give them. Great tutors not only care about their job but also the welfare of a student. A charismatic tutor must be respectful. In some circumstances, a tutor will have multilingual classes wherein a student is from a different country. In that case a charismatic tutor must be sensitive to cultural differences and traditions of their student. A student should feel safe and welcomed. Most importantly, a great tutor is passionate. The most important value an English tutor should have is passion. A tutor faces Students everyday having different cultures and styles of learning. That is the reason why tutors should be passionate. I have worked as a French teacher for more than ten years.
I have academic studies in English and French from Montréal, Canada, where I lived for several years. I have a Bachelor in Teaching French as a foreign language from the Université de Bourgogne.

With over 10 years of teaching experience, I am a certified Indonesian teacher and translator. After working as an Indonesian teacher for Australian Defense Force (ADF) as well as an English lecturer at a university in Indonesia, now I have my own language school in Bandung.

I come from the town of Vidin, Bulgaria. I am a qualified English and Bulgarian teacher. I graduated back in 1972 from Sofia University with an MA in English Philology and Bulgarian Philology as a second subject. Since then I have spent most of my professional career teaching Bulgarian students.
