Hi, I´m Nancy and I'm originally from Paraguay. I have a C2 level of English(proficient). I moved to the Netherlands over a year ago and my current level of Dutch is B1 (intermediate). I have over 12 years of experience teaching English to teenagers and adults at a language school. I currently work as a freelancer for a global provider of language training. I've taught General English as well as Medical and Business English one-on-one, to small and large groups. I have successfully trained students to take international English language testing exams such as the TOEFL. I also have over 4 years of experience teaching Spanish language and culture. I offer personalized lessons that are fun, interactive and based on what my students need and want to learn. I do so through a variety of activities to help you build your skills step by step; including role-playing (based on real-life situations), Q&As, games, among others. The objective is to keep you talking! Don’t worry about making mistakes; in fact, making mistakes and learning from them help you get better. Reviewing is an important part of my classes. I'm always going back and forth, checking if you still remember content introduced in previous classes.
Before we start our lessons, I need to know your reasons for learning either English or Spanish.. In case you already have some knowledge, I will need to determine what your exact level is. Once I find out about your needs, interests, and level, I will be able to select the right materials and design the right course for you.
We can either work with a textbook (plus extra-materials) or with my own teaching materials. I usually make use of videos, slides, worksheets, and other teaching resources.
We can use any platform of your choice, or if you live in or near Haarlem, Netherlands, we can even have classes face-to-face.

Many teachers just offer grammar, but according to my ten years of tutoring experience, that is not enough. Apart from cultural context, we need to know how we learn to learn better. I've taken several courses with experts in the matter because it helps me to help the professionals I work with. I studied linguistics (German, Russian and English) at the University of Genoa. I am currently doing my Master's degree in Translation Studies at the Center for Translation Studies (German and Italian) in Vienna and I have already tutored Italian privately and gained experience in language training during my internship at the company "E-Kern" in Linz.

I am a teacher of English with more than 20 years experience. For the last 15 years I have lived and taught English in the South East of England, but originally I come from Minsk, Belarus, so English is actually my second language. This means that I certainly know what it is like to be a language learner and can appreciate the challenges you are facing, and I also know how to help you achieve a really high level.

I have worked with many different nationalities and almost all age groups and taught a variety of ESOL courses at all levels, including exam preparation classes such as IELTS. I teach with a communicative and learner-centred approach, taking into account your interests, preferences and personal goals, as well as the requirements of the exam you may be working towards.

As a DELTA-qualified and experienced tutor, I am familiar with many modern teaching methods, and prefer to use a mix rather than stick to one way of teaching. Depending on your level, your needs and, of course, your wishes, I can make some lessons more structured, with pre-determined objectives, topics and language content, whereas other sessions may be more flexible and informal, so we can discuss a topic or a language problem that comes up naturally during the lesson. I encourage my students to be autonomous learners, so I will welcome your initiative as to how or what you prefer to study, but I can also completely understand it if you prefer to have lessons where the teacher decides what is right for you at this stage. Either way is an effective way of learning and together we can find out very quickly what works for you.

Whenever possible, I use authentic resources, such as online newspaper articles and BBC videos, and I often design tasks and exercises myself, to make my lessons more up-to-date and matching your particular situation. I also use materials from EFL coursebooks and language-learning websites. Whatever your level, I will always have a lot of suggestions for you as to what materials and online applications you can use to support your study in between lessons.

I am a teacher of Italian to Speakers of Other Languages with many years of experience in teaching in public and private schools. I have taught Italian to speakers of other languages in schools, in migratory contexts and in vocational training at all levels (from pre A1 to C2 ). I have gained experience as a teacher with Arabic-speaking, Slavic-speaking, German-speaking, French-speaking, Spanish-speaking, Sinophone, Lusophone and Anglophone students, and have taught literacy courses for asylum seekers and refugees.
