I have 5 years teaching experience in teaching English as a second language to Native black students in the elementary phase. My teaching style is direct and is learner focused. I teach in the English language and my focus is in speaking, correct grammar and pronounciatiation of words. This allows for students to learn English naturally, make mistakes and I reinforce the correct use of English with praise.
My teaching touches on real life contexts which enables students to make requests, explain things, express their feelings and preferences. I make use of a lesson plan for a specific topic, flash cards and work sheets for teaching children. For more older students I enforce a personalised learning environment which focuses on the application of concepts and problem solving that enhances learner personalised responsibility. With adults a learner sets up individual learning goals within a conducive comfortable learning environment. Feed back and and practice , balancing of time and discussion progresses towards attaining the desired goal of the student.
