I am a native English speaker and have over 11 years’ experience teaching ESL to young learners in South Korea and in Barcelona, Spain. This experience includes teaching pre-school, primary, secondary and high school students both as the sole English teacher as well as in a co-teaching setting. I also have two years’ experience teaching one-on-one online English classes geared towards students aged 3 to 18 years in a language immersion setting. Undoubtedly, the past year and a half has been a challenging one for most of us. However, I feel that I have risen to the occasion and been able to adapt to teaching in such a new, and at times, stressful environment. I am dedicated to helping students achieve their language goals and hope to continue to do so for many years to come.
As for my qualifications, I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics and Psychology from the University of Connecticut. Furthermore, I have acquired a 120 hour ICOES accredited online TESOL certificate from Open International Academy. I also have extensive experience with developing lesson plans and curriculums, directing small group conversations and group debates, planning and directing class activities, creating PowerPoint based lessons, worksheets, tests and homework assignments as well as teaching after school classes and summer and winter camps. In addition, I am proficient in Spanish and Korean at the B2 level.
