Dark and light colours in Dutch
A primary or secondary colour can also have a lighter or a darker tone. If the colour has a lighter tone, you place the word licht (light) in front of it. If the colour has a darker tone, you place the word donker (dark) in front of it.

Colours of the Dutch flag
The Dutch flag consists of three horizontal colours: red, white and blue.
- The red symbolises the people of the Netherlands.
- The white symbolises the church.
- The blue symbolises the nobility.
The current Dutch flag exists since 1572, when William of Oranje became the Stadtholder of Holland and Zeeland. In 1572, the first stroke was orange instead of red. The orange referred to the stadtholder. Although the flag was officially orange-white-blue in the 16th century, the crews of ships chose to change the orange into red since red fabric was more readily available and red was more visible at sea. Soon red-white-blue became the standard Dutch flag.
Despite the fact that orange is not in the flag anymore, it remains the national colour of The Netherlands. On King's Day and during the World and European football championship (if the Netherlands qualifies) the whole country turns orange. Orange is the national colour because it is the colour of the Dutch royal family. They are named the House of Oranje-Nassau, which dates back to William of Oranje who inherited the French city of Orange from his cousin René of Chalon in 1544.

I'm offering informal Dutch and English lessons based on conversation and will conduct my lessons for as much as possible in the target language.
I use text, weblinks to tv shows to get us talking and am a fan of the TPRS method.
There's a lot of information on that method online. Basically it's getting to know the structure Dutch and English through simple conversation. (questions about 1 or several sentences on any topic)
I have some useful weblinks to tv shows in Dutch (with subtitles in Dutch) adjusted to your level and the shows are entertaining too. :-)
We can discuss the shows preferably in the target language of course.
I can explain some grammar too if needed and have articles and books ready to read from. This again will be adjusted to your proficiency. But of course if you'd like to focus on a topic which has your interest that is possible as well. This makes it more personal and more fun.
I've been teaching for about a year now on another platform to students from all over the world and really enjoy having the experience again as I used to be a vocal coach back in the days when I attended conservatory in the Netherlands.

Less is knowledgeable about teaching. He was positive and encouraging. During the lessons we followed a good routine. Reading aloud and accent corrections. Then review of homework followed by a TPRS exercise. He was always well prepared and punctual. I highly recommend him.

I have more than 12 years of experience as a teacher, in the Netherlands and abroad, to young and old!
In the Netherlands I have experience in each grade, so I know exactly how the Dutch language is given in primary education. I can really recommend Senna as a Dutch teacher! She is always on time, there is no problem with communication(I had a few teachers before so I see a difference;)) The material is very diverse - we do a lot of grammar and speaking exercises but also discuss articles from newspapers which contain also more informal Dutch. After 4 months of lessons I see a big progress in my Dutch. Moreover Senna is just a nice and patient person so there is no stress during the lesson :)
