About me Ciao! My name is Andrea and I am a native Italian with years of Italian language teaching experience, graduated from University of... Rome.  I lived in London and Los Angeles for several years. Then I attended courses for teaching Italian as a second language. I have been teaching Italian language to foreigners for 4 years and it has been very satisfying so far.  Qualifications & Experience Since I was attending primary school until I graduated from University I have always studied both Italian and English languages. After University I continued my studies attending courses for becoming a professional teacher of Italian as a foreign language and then started to work as a teacher abroad in London and LA. Today I am teaching mostly online, I really like this way of working: technology gave me the opportunity to reach all of my students living in different countries and continents. I love my job and I am passionate about it. I teach Italian language to foreigners and it has been very satisfying so far. I give online lessons and also in person when the student lives in my own city, the beautiful Rome. I currently have many students who come from different countries like Netherlands, Brazil, USA, Russia, Poland, France, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Scotland, Switzerland, Ukraine, Belgium, Israel etc. Students who attend my courses work at professional level in ESA, FAO, UN here in Rome. Students who live abroad of Italy are doctors, smart entrepreneurs, artists, writers or very good and young students. They all need to learn Italian for both private / professional reasons. I am highly qualified for improving your pronunciation, public speaking and oratory skills since I attended diction courses for longer than 5 years. My students are the first to show me gratitude for the good results and improvements they achieve attending the course. They tell me enthusiastically about the successes achieved both at work and in private-daily life by learning the Italian language with me.  Teaching Approach I always try to understand what kind of student I have in front of me, where he/she comes from and his/her age. The way I teach to kids is different than the way I use to teach to adults. I always try to meet the student's needs, guiding him/her gently. If the student needs to know more grammar I start my lessons teaching more rules, following a Structural approach: this means that I would start teaching the language as a complex of grammatical rules which are to be learned one at a time in a set order. Along with that it is possible to do some grammar translations to and from the target language and to practice some Audio - Lingual method (learning through the practice of dialogues of every situations). Only after all this I push the student towards a Direct method, that means that it is possible only to use the target language: the teacher explains everything using the target language only and the learner is not allowed to use his or her mother tongue.  When the student starts to speak fluently I like to focus more on the pronunciation, about the way he/she sounds practising with the student more conversation, analyzing his/her fluency, mental blocks or mispronunciation. Hello! just some info to better understand my method: I carry out an accurate needs analysis during the 0 lesson to find out the learner's... level, background, learning habits and style, hobbies and interests and their needs. I prepare a course design to be discussed with the learner with the major points I think should be covered in the course, on the basis of the needs analysis mentioned aboveI use articles, videos and tools such as kahoot, padlet, quizlet, TED talks and so on to make my lessons varied and dynamicI provide clear examples and explanations of the target language As I said in the video, I teach English and Italian for all levels + business English/Italian, exam preparation classes, business skills and English/Italian for Specific Purposes (logistics, HR, pharma...). Hi, I'm Francesca I have been teaching Italian to adults since 2010, individual and group lessons. I have a degree in English and French, and... I have a diploma of interpreter in German. In the summer I teach Italian in full immersion courses in Tuscany, where I live. I really enjoy helping people to learn more not only about Italian as a language but also the rich Italian culture. Hello everyone, My name is Ilaria, I am 30 years old, I have a post-graduate Master in Linguistic Education at the Ca'Foscari University of... Venice. I currently teach Italian to foreigners online. I gained numerous experiences abroad, I volunteered for one year in Romania, then I worked for two years in Bucharest and two in Ireland in the field of customer service for international companies. I am a native speaker of Italian but I speak fluent English, Romanian and French. I currently live in Bologna. In the first lesson I try to get an impression of the students, their attitude, cognitive style, needs, level of exposure to the language, motivation etc. I try an inductive - conversational approach first, I plan every lesson and I provide the student with a Google Drive file, anticipating contents and activities.Mostly I tend to work on what it's best for the students (ex. some of them prefer learning tables with grammar rules, verbs etc by heart, I make them understand that this is not considered the fastest nor most efficient way generally, but if it works for them I encourage it). I always try to make them capable of learn by their own and I want them to see me as a facilitator, a guide, not "the person who owns the knowledge". I keep my students focused by constantly stimulating them, asking questions, asking them to share thoughts and formulate hypotheses. Also I always provide explanations for what I do, why I do it in a certain way and at a certain time. I also use a manual. I often propose topics related to intercultural themes, news, environment, LGBT+ but also tv series, movies and so on, I discuss with students what they'd like to work on and I find or create from scratch activities for them.
