Hello! My name is Alessia, I am 25 years old and I currently work as a teacher of Italian language to Chinese students ( teenagers and... adults). I graduated in Modern Languages for Intercultural Communication in 2017 (English and Mandarin Chinese), I have always been passionate about languages and linguistics, that is why I have plenty of experience in teaching linguistics, language education (at university level), humanities, Italian language, English, Mandarin Chinese (at any level and age) I have taught italian and foreign students (in English, Spanish and Chinese). I am a young interpreter and translator and I graduated with honors from the University of International Studies of Rome - UNINT. My passion... for languages dates back to adolescence and led me to a university education totally dedicated to them. During and after university, I had the opportunity to work with Italian, English and Arabic, mainly as an interpreter, translator and proofreader. Having spent most of my life studying languages and having deepened their teaching thanks to various university courses, I am aware that each student needs a different path, tailored to them and their specific needs. The teaching method will therefore differ from situation to situation and may be based more on a natural-inductive approach, i.e. mainly based on practice, or on a notional-deductive approach, which starts from the grammatical rules in order to arrive to practice. I was born in Italy but I lived abroad since 2010. Throughout the years I have learnt English at a native speaker level, Spanish at an... intermediate level, and I am still studying Chinese. I have extensive experience working with children and teenagers, both in class and online due to the current situation. After living in London for five years, I moved to Argentina for a year to work for a project of the Italian government. With a team of local teachers, social workers, and two other people from Italy, we have organised workshops, recreational activities and lessons for children between five and twelve years old. At the end of the project, I moved back to England for the CELTA course, and after that, I worked as an English teacher and activities leader in London, in a summer school for students aged between twelve and eighteen. The students were from Israel, Italy, Poland, Spain, and Russia. In August 2017 I moved to China for two years, there I have enjoyed teaching conversational English in high schools, middle schools in Guang'An and primary schools in Chengdu. In the second year I took over a new challenge and I taught English through drama to very young children, from four to ten years old in Chengdu. Last September I've moved to Dublin to study Child Psychology, this short Diploma course finished in December. I am currently studying online for my BA in Psychology and Sociology. Read more
