My methodology, which follows the “actional” or "task-based" approach, aims at re-creating a natural language environment with tasks and... dialogs that one would encounter living or working in a French speaking country, such as : shopping, finding your way somewhere, making appointments, making small talk… Depending on your needs and your written or oral level, I will create a structured, varied and interesting course which will help you improve your understanding and your ability to express yourself in French. You can also decide to work on a specific skill : listening comprehension and oral expression, or reading comprehension and written expression. During the class, we will only speak French. Your language practice is immediate. Don’t worry! Visual aids and gesturing will help understanding. I will encourage your participation to make sure that speaking French will come more naturally to you. Here are my areas : - Preparation for the DELF/DALF/TCF exams To attain a good level of general French and prepare to take a diploma or other internationally-recognised French test such as DELF, DALF, or TCF. - Preparation course for University and Higher Education Studies (From level A2 – elementary) Reach the level required to be accepted at a higher education establishment and prepare for a French level test for University entrance. Improve your skills to be able to follow a curriculum of study in France. - General French courses (All levels : A1 to C2) Learn the basics of the language or improve your skills - French courses for business (From level A2 – elementary) Improve your French and increase your confidence in professional situations. - French for specific purposes As a professional or an individual, you have specific needs in French. Good morning, I am Trécy, a French teacher and native French speaker. I have a degree in Spanish philology and a master's degree in teaching... French to foreigners, and I have been a teacher for 6 years. I live in Spain where I teach my Spanish students but I also teach students from all over the world online. My method is communicative, which means that I focus mainly on the oral part in my classes, analyzing documents, videos, audios but always with the aim of reviewing and studying grammatical structures, conjugation and above all vocabulary necessary for you to be able to converse in French-speaking environments. In addition, in class I practice with the students both the oral and written comprehension and production parts, as well as grammar, conjugation, conversation points... because don't forget that French oral and written are like two different languages and you need to know how to speak both. In addition, I usually propose varied and fun content to my students so that they learn while having fun with videos, audios, role-playing games and real situations, debates etc. The objective is for you to learn inductively, that is to say, you are the ones who will analyze the grammatical structures and verb tenses that appear in the documents studied to extract the rules of these structures. We will study them together and explain them in order to apply them later through exercises, activities, dialogues etc... In short, you are the engine and the actor of this class! Let me tell you my story: I am French and I moved to U.K. when I was 22 years old and had studied English for 11 years before that in a school... setting. When I arrived to the U.K., I thought my English was fine and that I could understand people speaking to me easily because I had practised speaking English with different nationalities before that. I thought I was good at speaking English. How wrong was I!!!! I had to re-learn everything. The way that I was taught at school was not going to help me with my accent or my conversational skills. Many years later, after struggling to fit and understand the way people were expressing themselves and their nuances, I suddenly found myself in a commercial setting, having to sell products on commission. And I was wondering what would be the best way for me to break through and start selling my products. I then started to listen to people I was having conversations with, with specific purposes. My first step was to attentively hear them, the way they were expressing themselves. I was making sure that I was finding English people to discuss with and listening to the way they were expressing their emotions, how they were agreeing and disagreeing, how they were greeting others in a business manner, how they were expressing themselves when they wanted something. My second step was to use and reproduce what I had heard from them as much as possible in different settings and look for the reactions of the people in front of me. This technique was very rewarding in my case and I made huge progress at the time. A few years later, and still living in England, I started building my own online tutoring and teaching business in my own language French, offering my skills and experience to students. I have been working this business since 2012 (part time as a new mum) and became really serious from 2017 when I worked with primary schools, companies, private customers, children (7-9), retired people, adults beginners, advanced, libraries reading sessions, baby groups. I was working on building conversations and developing my students's skills towards grammar like the tenses and their uses, prepositions, spelling,.... Anything you can think of, I have worked and developed systems towards helping my students and I have had fantastic results with people working with me every single week for over 2 years. By the way, my son who is now 10 is fully bilingual so I have tips on that too. Life changes have happened and I have slightly stopped my activities wondering if I was doing the right thing and if I could do something else because I am a people person and wanted to develop myself even further.
