10 years of experience, Professional Turkish Teacher

Merhaba! I’m Can from Izmir, Turkey. I am a professional language teacher and a research assistant at Dokuz Eylul University. I have been a language coach for over 8 years and am currently completing my PhD. My journey with learning and teaching languages began in my early days in academia. Much of the information presented to me in class was referenced in English. Although I studied English for 8 years from middle to high school, I could barely put together 3 sentences. I found myself, along with my classmates struggling to understand and keep up. This is when I realized that standardized teaching methods are not meant to teach us to speak the language, but instead are meant to teach us the bare minimum. I had no choice but to come up with a method to learn English quickly so I can pass my classes.

I’ve read many textbooks and have used every possible app to learn English and none of them provided me with a method to reach my goals. Once I realized the downfalls, I created my own unique method of language learning and in a very short time period became fluent in English. I then decided to test my method again and learned French followed by German. As I perfected my method, learning each language became easier. I learned these three languages on my own, without traveling abroad. Once I became fluent, I found the confidence to live in both London and Paris. I effortlessly communicated with the locals and they were always shocked that I was a foreigner. I cracked the code to language learning and am now also learning Spanish. I will teach you my unique method and in no time we’ll have conversations in Turkish as if you were a native speaker.
