First, I always want to hear from the student what his or her expectations are from me and the classes. Maybe you would like to focus on one of the four main elements of the language: vocabulary, grammar, speaking, and writing. It is important for me to take into account the level of a person, to create confidence and thereby stimulate speech. I apply the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for better results. After each class we evaluate and at the beginning we talk about what we learnt in the last class. Repeating is necessary and many times not experienced as fun, but together we will make it something fun!
I have studied to become a Spanish teacher at the Dutch teacher academy Fontys, including teaching adolescents during the practices at a high school, and spent a month in Madrid to practice the language. I have more than 10 years experience in giving classes, because it is something I have always really enjoyed! In the Netherlands I used to be a Spanish private tutor and now I live in Barcelona I continue to be a language teacher. Besides having an Argentinian boyfriend, I went to Chile for my bachelor's Latin American studies (about 5 months) and Mexico for my master's thesis (about 3 months) where I also made a lot of friends.
