Classes with Frederico Babo

Good day,
as a teacher I strive to create an environment that stimulates students' creativity and communication in a confident and relaxed manner. You can be assured of my commitement to the progress of the classroom and to deliver classes that are both engaging and well-prepared, for both the English and the Portuguese languages.

Throughout my life, my contact with English has been constant: today, I hold a C2 Diploma in English and 150-Hours TEFL Degree. Formerly, I participated in several cultural exchange programs in which English was widely used. One of them actually took me to the Forest of Dean, in England for close to a year, a project that was literally life-changing and from which I hold dear memories.
My native language is, however, (european) Portuguese, and naturally I can just as well teach it in a manner that you hopefully find interesting and rewarding. In fact, for some time I worked as a translator between these two languages on a free-lance basis, so I can say that I am able to interchange them fluidly.
My former experince as a teacher has been, albeit short, stimulating. For a period of approximately six months I was responsible for a small adult classroom at a company in Switzerland, teaching an A2 English level. It was in this environment that I was able to understand how my classes should be developed and I can say that I learned an awful lot on how to communicate as a teacher.

As for teaching material, my proposal is that we use the structure of a course-book, complemented with researched material, properly adapted to the online class environment. I'll also be happy to help the student understand through drawings, mimics, example sentences, whatever it takes to take the information across.
