Take online language lessons with a professional teacher
All tests require 5 skills:
This are some of the possible types of tasks:
Note: For some exercises you may also use a dictionary.
To successfully pass the exam, 67% of the possible points must be achieved in each of the five skills. There is the possibility to repeat single skills if you did not reach the required number of points. However, you have to pay 75% of the price again and it is only possible a year later.
Results will be posted within 3-5 working days, and if successfully, you will receive your TRKI certificate within 2-3 weeks.
The TKRI certificate is valid one year after issue.
There is no central organization for the TRKI exam. Therefore, the exam is offered by individual institutions, including universities.
On the websites of the institutions you can see all available dates and you can register directly.
In the table below you will find a summary of the prices of the different tests. Of course, there may be deviations depending on the organizing institution.

I enjoy my lessons with Anna. Her flexible approach makes it possible for me to come up with my own materials (newspaper articles, podcasts and grammatical exercises). At the same time, she provides stimulating and well-presented materials herself. Another aspect of the lessons which I much appreciate is her willingness to give me feedback on recordings that I make and send for her assessment. It is also obvious that Anna has a keen personal interest in language, an awareness that makes the lessons particularly helpful. I have no hesitation in strongly recommending her.

Hello! My name is Andrei, and I'm a professional theater director and educator from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. I teach theater all over the world - in Europe and the USA, and I teach Russian online for anyone who studies Russian and loves Russian culture.
Learning and teaching languages is my passion. As a theater director, I interact with Russian language and Russian literature on daily basis, so, when teaching Russian, I strive to share my love of it and spread my knowledge.
No less than Russian, I love English, which allows me to communicate with the world. In 2018, I won a Fulbright competition and as a Fulbrighter and Visiting Scholar I taught Russian theater techniques at two American universities - The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The University of Illinois at Chicago. This experience helped me improve my spoken English and convinced me that language is a powerful tool for cultural exchange.
Qualifications & Experience
As a tutor, I've been teaching Russian online for about 2 years. During this time I've taught around 50 students - from beginners to advanced. Among my students I have had an American military pilot, an American embassy officer in Kazakhstan, dozens of college students, and others. I've gained some experience in diagnosing student problems and finding effective tactics to improve their skills.
As a person who was trained a lot in voice and speech class during my studies in the Saint-Petersburg State Theater Arts Academy, I can also help you significantly improve your pronunciation.
Teaching Approach
I believe that it's not enough to learn grammar and vocabulary to master a foreign language. One has to be immersed into a real language, a language people really speak, which is always different from those versions we encounter in various textbooks.
On the other hand, it seems to me important to show students higher examples of the Russian language - the literary language. It's essential to know which speech sounds good and to distinguish it.
I mainly rely on conversational practice. However, as to their homework, I strongly recommend students to listen to Russian speech using various videos and podcasts, and I give them four special techniques for working with these types of materials. I firmly believe that listening can create the basis for future communication skills. There's no doubt that children begin to speak imitating the speech of their parents.
During my lessons I use "Russian in Exercises" written by S.A. Khavronina and A.I. Shirochenskaya - a book published in 2014, which became a bestseller among those who teach Russian as a foreign language, "53 Models of Russian Grammar" by T.M. Dorofeeva and M.N. Lebedeva, various exercises, tables and games, as well as interviewing and retelling.

Let me give you a feedback about my lessons with Andrei in English. I searched for a russian teacher almost 2 years ago, and I was most lucky to find 2 really good teachers with different specialties immediately. Apparently I was one of Andrei's first russian students, and I admire the patience he had with me at that time, because I knew so little in russian, that it must have been a pain with me. At that time I had studied 9 months, using books, audio files, podcasts and articles etc. But I knew I needed to talk to get fluid in russian. As I am over 50, it takes me some more time to learn something than it was during my school time. I can only imagine, how this must have felt to Andrei at our beginning. Andrei comes from the cultural sector, having been a director at a St. Petersburg theatre and a Lecturer to students there. In his intro he states very calmly and somewhat non-passionately, how much he loves the russian language. Believe me, the passion became visible and tangible vehemently later on. There was no theme, we could not touch together, and I feel honored to be instructed by such an intellectual gentleman. Andrei was quite demanding, and early on I had to write texts, which we later on worked through. I tend to write in complicated ways, and he regularly demanded from me to find and use the most common and simple way of expressing my thoughts. This helped me enormously, because I had started at the typical point to simply translate the phases I had built in German, my mother tongue. A translated sencence sounds translated, whereas a natively expressed sentence has the potential to be recognized as "almost russian" :-) As I said, I feel tremendously privileged to learn from Andrei, and I enjoy our lessons enormously, as can be seen from the 136 lessons to this date. I can recommend Andrei to anyone, who looks for more than the mechanics of the language, who enjoys the fire, seeks for context or loves to come up with totally unexpected questions. Andrei loves to see progress, and if you work on your personal progress, it is a pleasure to work with him. Thank you so much, Andrei!

Hello everyone and a big warm welcome to all the fellow language learners,
My name is Katerina, I’m a native Russian speaker and a foreign language teacher from St Petersburg, Russia. I’ve always been addicted to learning foreign languages, be it English, German, Spanish, Turkish or Arabic, so turning my passion into my job was just a matter of time. I have a Master’s degree in linguistics which taught me to understand the way the mechanism of a language works and thus to help my students see the logics behind the grammar rules. Being a constant language learner enables me to see the process from both sides and to predict the difficulties my students might face. The fact that I’m not a native speaker of English or German means I’ve been through exactly the same language-learning journey you’re about to take, and thanks to my personal experience as a student, I can make this road smooth for you.
I've had students of all ages, from pre-school kids to senior generation, and I feel comfortable working with both beginners and those who are eager to take their learning process to a new level. In my classes I encourage you to talk in the language we’re studying as much as possible, putting every single bit of knowledge into practice right away. If you’re a Russian-learner, I’d be glad to prove it to you that you can absolutely nail my mother-tongue - and yes, you’ll be able to make a small talk in Russian by the end of the first class even if you’re an absolute beginner! We’ll be focusing on the topics that are most relevant to your goals, while discovering the language and getting to know more about the culture of people who speak it.
I offer a short free trial class, for us to give each other a smile and discuss our teaching pattern, in order to ajust it to your goals and make our lessons the bee's knees :) See you soon!

I met Katerina in April 2019. Until this moment, I studied only from a textbook and with audio files. I knew that I needed practice and direction, and I found Katerina's profile on the platform. She works as a teacher for the Russian language, but she also studied German studies at the university, that is, she could help me with my favorite textbook. And so she did. It is very pleasant for me, she looked at the textbook and agreed to work it with me. But that’s not all for a long time. Not only did she prepare additional exercises, but I also wrote a list of what I wanted to develop (dates, numbers, verbs of movement, etc.) and we did all this. It is important for her that the student not only follows the textbooks, but also teaches daily things. So she prepared the material, like videos, polls, on those we worked on. Thank you so much dear teacher.

What will our lessons be like?
- MOTIVATIONAL: I can do more than just be your TEACHER, but also a COACH and a PSYCHOLOGIST concerning your studying process, and a FRIEND you will feel comfortable to talk with.
- HOLISTIC: We will develop all four skills: SPEAKING, LISTENING and READING throughout the class and you will practise WRITING during the homework. Writing is a powerful way to stop and think slowly and consciously to help you better understand the language patterns and find the vocabulary you need to express whatever you want at a relaxed pace.
We will work on PRONUNCIATION because it not only allows you to sound more natural and to be understood but to understand the foreign speech better.
- FUN and CREATIVE: I use a bunch of materials and activities and always try to find a way around CONNECTING my student´s interests and hobbies to the studying of Russian.
- FRIENDLY and RELAXED: I create a relaxed atmosphere, which will help you to express yourself with NO FEAR.
- VALUABLE and USABLE: I will use AUTHENTIC language using reduced forms, adapted to your current level because the INPUT should be COMPREHENSIBLE to make the study EFFICIENT.
FLEXIBLE: I am always open to your feedback so we will adapt the methods I use to your current teaching style.
INTERACTIVE: we will go through the vocabulary using real objects and/or gestures when possible.
Why should you book a lesson with me?
- I am a native Russian speaker from Moscow with a “standard accent” and clear diction.
- I am fluent in Spanish, English and Italian so it will not be a problem for me to use it as an Intermediary language with beginners. I will try to speak as much as possible in Russian with Intermediate students and 99% in Russian starting from around B2 level.
- I have experience teaching Russian to native speakers of Spanish, English and Italian (and Russian)
- RUSSIAN was MY FAVOURITE SUBJECT back in school and TEACHING has been my PASSION since then, hence; I devote time to study HOW TO TEACH (I´m taking TESOL course now) and find ways to IMPROVE in that field.
- I will LEAD you throughout the process and share the RESPONSIBILITY with you.
- I LOVE QUESTIONS and MISTAKES because it´s the best way to learn and improve.
- I am a serious person, so I carefully prepare for the lessons, but easy-going, so you will find it comfortable talking to me.
- I enjoy what I am doing (and you will notice that right from the trial lesson!)
SO, WHAT IS KEEPING YOU FROM BOOKING A LESSON WITH ME? :)

I've been looking for a Russian teacher for years who is truly patient and professional at the same time. Sveta, in my opinion, has it all: it makes me feel good, it gratifies my efforts and at no time does she get impatient while I take my time to answer. He explains everything to me calmly and sympathetically and writes me every word that I don't know so that I can read and understand it. She is a girl of great intelligence, who has managed to learn by herself, living in Moscow, Italian and Spanish impeccably and without an accent. This favors her even more when teaching Russian to others. I recommend it and can't wait to continue learning with it.

It is a pleasure to have Andrei as my teacher! He is an experienced and passionate teacher and very knowledgeable about all aspects of Russian (grammar, expressions, literature etc.). He also speaks fluent English, which helps when you have more in-depth questions. He is positive, patient and not too 'schoolish', which is what I need. His method is hands on. The first lesson Andrei analysed my level with a few smart tests to find out the focal points for my lessons. He has his own material, but is also open to change the subject of a lesson to suit your own needs. After a few lessons I already connect much better to the Russian language, and I look forward to every new lesson!
