Hello,
My name is Zlatko. I believe that learning Bulgarian online with me gives you the best of both worlds: fast progress and enjoyment.Taking on the challenge to learn a new language is impressive. The reasons might be different. Some people give it a go because they just like new things. Others need to learn a new language because they are moving to a country where the language is spoken. Remember that whatever your reason is, it is your motivation that is the key to successful learning.
Who am I and why to pick me:
- online and face-to-face teaching experience: over 15 years helping hundreds of students achieve their language goals
- flexibility: willing to tailor my techniques to both your interests and specific needs
- patience and excellent listening skills
- honesty and collaboration: let's build trust and consider our work as a partnership
- native Bulgarian speaker with oustanding educational background
- sense of humour
Material
All lessons are interlinked to promote better and more memorable learning, with the flexibility to pick out key sections to focus on certain language points. All language is clearly signposted and scaffolded so there is great clarity of progression of learning - students can really feel they are getting somewhere.
In general, my teaching style includes, but is not limited to:
- speaking practice through role-play activities
- stotytelling and discussions
- gap filling excercises
- listening comprehension
- vocabulary development
- accent reduction
How does that grab you? If interested, drop me a line and we will discuss your language goals and expectations.
I OFFER a 15 MINUTE TRIAL LESSON TO DEMONSTRATE WHAT MY TEACHING METHOD LOOKS LIKE.
Hope to see you soon.
Here are a few tips on how to get the most out of every lesson:
1. Review what you covered in your previous lesson.
2. Focus on things you had difficulty with. I will definitely go over them.
3. It is always a great idea to take notes during your lessons. It helps you stay more focused on what you are learning.
4. Feel free to ask me if anything has come up since your last lesson that you want clarification on. Your questions do not have to be prior lesson related, maybe you are just curious about how to say something.
5. Be sure you have completed your homework assignments. If you were not able to complete them, make notes about what stumped you. Were the instructions not clear enough, was the vocabulary beyond your level of comprehension, were the grammar rules too overwhelming, was there too much homework for the time you had planned to spend on it, and so on.
6. Contact me prior to your next lesson if there are any issues or changes you would like to make me aware of so I can have a chance to make changes to your learning plan.
I look forward to seeing you in my lessons.

Zlatko has an excellent teaching style and adapts to your learning ability. I am an older pupil and have found the learning pace manageable and have remained motivated. Zlatko has developed his own teaching material that is a good mix of vocabulary, grammar and phrases. I have no hesitation in recommending him as a teacher.

Hi there,
I am glad to meet you.
First of all, let me congratulate you on the decision to learn or improve a new language. In your case this is Bulgarian.
My country, Bulgaria, is a beautiful country with nice and hospitable people. It is an ancient land with a great history and rich culture. Having learned our language you will be able to get in touch freely with our good people and country.
I come from the town of Vidin, Bulgaria. I am a qualified English and Bulgarian teacher. I graduated back in 1972 from Sofia University with an MA in English Philology and Bulgarian Philology as a second subject. Since then I have spent most of my professional career teaching Bulgarian students.
First of all, we will have a 20-30-minute trial lesson during which we can get to know each other, set expectations towards the lessons and schedule the timetable. The next step is simple - we start learning the language of your choice!
Cannot wait to meet you and help you on your journey to learn Bulgarian.

So far, I have had 23 classes with Angel. Communication has, from the beginning on, been very smooth. Angel is always super punctual and correct. What I enjoy the most are the more personalized classes. Angel got to know that I like to sing/play music so he taught me two Bulgarian songs. It was a nice challenge. I have almost no time to study for my classes but still I feel like I've improved quite a bit just by reading/translating/looking at the grammar and asking poor Angel way too many questions :).

Hello my Dear students! My name is Desislava and I am from Bulgaria. In 2017 I finished my Master`s thesis concerning foreign language students` motivation. It was a great and very interesting challenge for me to look for and find so many answers and helpful tips for me as a teacher on how to make my students` motivation bigger. Since 2014 to 2018 I was a teacher in English for the local university in my home town- Blagoevgrad. I am thankful to every single student that I have had so far because teaching is a process where the teacher and the students both give and take. I have learnt that patience is one of the biggest factors while being a learner and then a teacher. Before I became a teacher ,it is logical that I had been a student. I will always remember the best teachers that I had and I promised myself to try to be like them. I am currently taking care of my first child, so this is why I stopped working for the university. In me you can find not only a teacher, but also a good friend. We can share memories, good and bad happenings or whatever you like. Be free to contact me for English and Bulgarian lessons also! Everyone is more than welcome to ask me for help. I promise to give 100% and let the learning process begin! Thank you for reading my introduction, thank you in advance if you choose me as a teacher! See you! :)

She is very friendly and always with smile on her face. Lots of examples during class, she prepares lots of materials to learn, always repeating previous lessons and go to another, every lessons are very well explained. I am a very beginning of Bulgarian language but she is very patient to me and she makes sure that I’m ok with materials. We are going very slow with materials. She always reminds about the lesson two days before and is punctual for classes. I would definitely continue taking classes with her and would definitely recommend her.

I make my classes fun and enjoyable for all students, as I believe it is very important that the student enjoys learning, that they look forward to the next class. We often talk about culture, traditions, history and all kinds of topics that interest the student and in this way, progress is much more natural and faster.
Many thanks.
Best regards, Daniela

I am always interested in their motivation to learn Bulgarian and I adapt myself completely to the needs and tastes of each student. Dani is a wonderful teacher. I'm a native Bulgarian speaker with a non-Bulgarian speaking son. For years I have tried to motivate him to learn from me, with minimal success, unfortunately. Since we started lessons with Dani, my son is now able to understand and engage in basic conversational exchanges; and this is only after seven lessons! Dani comes prepared to the lessons, but is flexible and able to change lesson plans on the spot, based on what the interests of the student may be that day. Some days my son wants to talk about sports cars, others he likes to talk about sports. Dani takes his lead and engages him in the conversation topic of his choice, while remaining focused on the large picture of teaching a language; grammar rules, conjugation, prepositions, sentence construction and much, much more!

Hello,
My name is Zlatko.
