Kirstine was a very pleasant teacher to whom I also had the freedom to provide my own input: try writing texts in Danish myself, introduce lesson topics, point out similarities & differences between Danish on the one hand and Dutch on the other in terms of vocabulary & grammar. I could also indicate whether I wanted to prepare exercises for the next lesson and how many. Occasionally we could also talk about typical aspects of the social culture in Denmark versus that in Flanders. In my specific case, I only had a very limited knowledge of Danish based on a booklet bought in 2008 intended for those who want to travel in Denmark. Well, I speak several languages myself, especially other Germanic languages and that has certainly proved very useful to get off to a flying start during my Danish lessons. Based on my 24 lessons with her, I now have a foundation in terms of vocabulary, grammar & pronunciation in Danish. Kirstine also sent me spoken texts with which I could practice my pronunciation - for which she complimented me. I enjoy watching a TV program or DVD in Danish now or listening to music in Danish and then hearing words passed by during the lessons. If I decided to take a trip to Denmark, all of that would certainly come in handy. Anyone planning to take lessons from Kirstine should not hesitate. Jeroen  Kirstine was een heel aangename lerares bij wie ik ook de vrijheid had eigen input te leveren: zelf wat uitproberen met tekstjes in het Deens te schrijven, lesonderwerpen aanbrengen, wijzen op overeenkomsten & verschillen tussen enerzijds Deens en anderzijds Nederlands qua woordenschat & grammatica. Ik kon eveneens zelf aangeven of ik tegen een volgende les oefeningen wou voorbereiden en hoeveel. Af en toe konden we het ook hebben over typerende aspecten van de samenlevingscultuur in Denemarken versus die in Vlaanderen. In mijn specifiek geval is het zo dat ik slechts een zeer beperkte kennis van Deens had op basis van een in 2008 gekocht boekje bedoeld voor wie in Denemarken wil reizen. Nu, ik spreek zelf meerdere talen, vooral andere Germaanse talen en dat is zeker heel nuttig gebleken om tijdens mijn lessen Deens uit de startblokken te schieten. Op basis van mijn 24 lessen bij haar heb ik nu een fundering qua woordenschat, grammatica & uitspraak in het Deens. Kirstine heeft me ook ingesproken teksten doorgestuurd waarmee ik op m'n uitspraak - waarvoor ze me complimenteerde - kon oefenen. Ik ervaar het als fijn om nu een tv-programma of dvd in het Deens te bekijken of muziek in het Deens te beluisteren en dan tijdens de lessen voorbijgekomen woorden terug te horen. Zou ik besluiten een reis naar Denemarken te ondernemen, kwam dat alles me zeker ook van pas. Wie van plan is les bij Kirstine te nemen, moet zich heus niet bedenken.

We can definitely recommend Kirstine as a Danish teacher. Our main goal is to learn how to speak Danish and we have been progressing very well through a mix of conversational, grammar, reading, and homework exercises. Kirstine was very open to tailor the classes to our specific needs.

My brother and I have been taking Danish lessons for a few months now, and we can only recommend everyone to take lessons with Kristine. She offered us many different ways to learn the language, such as reading stories, describing pictures, working on tasks related to a series and much more. She also always encouraged us to have a conversation with her in English, no matter how difficult it sometimes was. She always responded to our requests and was very flexible with time, which was very beneficial for our care profession. We also varied the length of the individual lessons from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
We would like to thank her for her great support, which made it easier for us to live and work in Denmark. Dear Jacqueline

I have taken, until now, two lessons (+ the free intake session) and I really recommend Kirstine as a danish teacher. With her clear teaching experience, she brings structure to the lesson and various suggestions of exercices, but remains flexible to adapt to my specific needs and wishes. It makes the lessons really tailor-made, and therefore as beneficial as possible. She also provides homework (if wished), which also gives some extra material to study between the lessons. Her patience and smiling face make the course even more enjoyable.
