I use a practice approach. When I was at school my teachers started from the theory (e.g. grammar rules) to get to the practice.
I truly believe in the opposite approach: to start from real situations where the language is used first and to get to the grammar rules as a consequence.
Learning a language should not be just learning grammar but to know the culture and what’s behind it.
