I am qualified to teach English as a foreign language. I have taught English to foreigners in South Africa from beginner to advanced students... both adults and children. I am currently a Tutor with Preply and recently started. I have learnt to plan lessons based on the needs of my students. My lessons are planned in a fun and engaging manner. I also hold a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. I currently work at an International School and l teach life skills in physical classes and online. I deal with any life challenges that negatively affect the student's progress. I usually make use of TPR that allows me to teach students by doing. This also allows me teach teachers even beginners with understanding. I also make use of the communicative style of learning that allows students to communicate effectively and learn realistic ways of communication in different life situations. For example, how one can order food in a restaurant. How a business person can sell his or her products. I also make use of the task based learning were students are given an opportunity to complete tasks as they learn. I usually make use of a lot of visuals to teach as l believe seeing improves learning. I also make use of audios, cards, worksheets, articles and anything that will will allow the needs of the students to be mate. I lessons are structured in a fun and engaging manner. Hello Everyone, My name is my Maya Marriott-Semper and I am a CELTA qualified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language. I am also a final year... student at the University of Kent, studying anthropology. I have been teaching since 2018. I've taught Chinese children online and 1 to 1. I have been a volunteer English teacher in a school in Spanish teaching 4 to 16 year olds for a month. I was planning to work in a Summer camp as English Teacher and Activity Leader, this unfortunately got cancelled due to covid-19.
