About me:
I am an English teacher with 3 years of teaching experience. I specialise in Business English, Conversation, and IELTS exam preparation. I have a Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certificate (TEFL) and have a Teaching IELTS Certificate. I have a bachelor’s degree in International Branding and extensive experience in brand marketing.
Over the years, I have helped many companies and clients build up and develop their brand departments. In the process, I created several award-winning campaigns. In 2017, I became a trainer for a leading Asian e-commerce company. I trained a team of 16 Thai employees to improve communication, build and maintain a branding department, and to collaborate more effectively with the upper US management teams. In 2018, I started working as a private tutor and as a tutor on different platforms, teaching Business English to adults and English to children. I have lived in six countries thus far (Australia, France, Germany, Sweden, Thailand, the Netherlands), and hence, I understand the difficulty of learning a new language especially within the professional realm of business and career. I am a native German but grew up bilingually, my accent is American.
In the past, I have helped students improve their interview, negotiation, and leadership skills. In addition, I was able to support all of them on their journey towards learning how to conduct themselves professionally within a corporate environment. Many of my students got hired and promoted and were able to develop in their leadership roles.
Lastly, I am also an ICF Certified Master Life Coach. I enjoy integrating this unique knowledge and process into my lessons in order to help my students embrace the proper mindset for optimal learning.

My lesson with Mahdi was great. The speed and quality at which he adapted to my linguistic requirements was astounding. We worked through some of his original teaching material, which were always spot on to my level. And fun - he makes ample use of jokes and asks his students not only to "understand" them, but also uses them to elicit an impromptu analysis by the student of "why this was funny". This holds true as well for exercises in picture analysis and exercises in hearing. Mahdi gives enough room to experiment with the language in the "free talk" section and writes his comments and corrections live. Every single one of his written or spoken comments are invaluable to either clarify aspects of grammar or prompt his students to talk. Mahdi switches consistently and comprehensively through the different phases of a lesson without ever cutting one phase short or lingering too long -- proof of his experience and hundreds of lessons taught. He has an exceptional knowledge of Persian grammar which he however breaks down to a level his students can understand. His knowledge and his application of modern teaching methodology is impeccaple. He has also pointed me to several online resources to improve my learning experience. I'm looking forward to continuing my journey to Persian B2 and onwards with Mahdi.
