Hello everyone! I am Vanessa and I am 30 years old. I graduated in Modern Literature at the University of Bologna and I have a Master's degree in Science of Religions obtained at the University of Padua intrateneo with Ca' Foscari. I started tutoring Italian a few years ago mainly to high school kids, who got very good results; this past year I have been teaching adults and children.
When I lecture with children, I like to make sure that they choose how they prefer to lecture, and I propose to them a nice talk on a topic of their choice, or to read a simple story in Italian, or to play some didactic game to better remember the Italian terms seen before.
With adults who prefer a more theoretical approach, I try to identify the topics in which they have the most difficulty and propose a lesson about it; I use small examples to allow the student to test what they have understood so far. I also provide the notes about the lesson.
If a more practical approach is preferred, I propose a conversation on a topic of choice, writing down the new words and making them available to the student.

I have an Honours degree in Quantity Surveying from the Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. I have 2 years experience in tutoring in University. In the first lesson I try to get an impression of the students, their attitude, cognitive style, needs, level of exposure to the language, motivation etc. I try an inductive - conversational approach first, I plan every lesson and I provide the student with a Google Drive file, anticipating contents and activities.Mostly I tend to work on what it's best for the students (ex. some of them prefer learning tables with grammar rules, verbs etc by heart, I make them understand that this is not considered the fastest nor most efficient way generally, but if it works for them I encourage it). I always try to make them capable of learn by their own and I want them to see me as a facilitator, a guide, not "the person who owns the knowledge". I keep my students focused by constantly stimulating them, asking questions, asking them to share thoughts and formulate hypotheses. Also I always provide explanations for what I do, why I do it in a certain way and at a certain time. I also use a manual.
I often propose topics related to intercultural themes, news, environment, LGBT+ but also tv series, movies and so on, I discuss with students what they'd like to work on and I find or create from scratch activities for them.

Hello everybody. I am a native Turkish speaker. I growed up in Istanbul. Also I am a Turkish Language and Literature teacher/academic with 12 years of experience. I have a BA and MA degree. Now I am writing my doctoral dissertation. It's about 'Turkish Novels'.

I am a huge fan of Dostoyevksi. I think he is the best author off all times. My favourites from Turkish literary are Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar and İhsan Oktay Anar. Maybe we will be discussing their writings one day, who knows :)

My name Akani Zelda Baloyi and I am from South Africa. I have a TEFL certificate and I have been teaching English online for a year now. I speak English as second language.
When it comes to my teaching approach, I like to tailor my teaching approach in accordance with my student's individual needs, because I really care about them and want to know more about them. I also like to tailor my classes in accordance to what works well for my students.

Recently, the health situation has prompted me to leave my home country and start a professional retraining. Passionate about English since childhood, I chose to do the TEFL Course to be able to teach the language. My first lessons will be based on the PPP method or Presentation-Practice-Production.
