My name is Andrea and I'd like to be your Slovak teacher. :-)

I am a qualified teacher. I studied at the State Language School in Slovakia and I passed the General State Examination in English Language (C1-C2 level). I gained a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD.) in Social Work and completed an Additional Pedagogical Education. As a PhD student, I gained experience in teaching. I´ve more than four-year experience in teaching. I enjoy teaching, working with people and speaking in English.

We can focus on whatever you wish to practise and I can take you through a structured course and I will supply you with all of the required materials. Lessons dependent on the student's needs - grammar, speaking, writing, reading or listening. I can help you with all aspects of Slovak.

In our first lesson we'll get to know each other and I'll make an assessment of your needs. After that I'll create a plan for us to follow together.

Would you like to learn a new language such as Italian, English or Spanish in a smooth, accessible and fun way? Then, it would be a great idea to embark on an exciting journey together!

My big priority is to make sure that my students will learn a new language and get much more familiar with a new culture as fast as possible by doing dynamic and funny activities which suit everyone’s needs and passions. Song lyrics, texts from your favourite books, literature, parts of movies, news, TV series, traditional recipes may be only some of the instruments that we can use in order to make the learning process more efficient and focused on using the new language in different fields.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Languages and Literature from the University of Verona (Italy) and a Master’s Degree, cum Laude, in Languages and Media from the University ‘Cattolica’ in Milan (Italy) and Chapman University in Orange, California (USA).

If you are a proper beginner, if you already know a few words but you don’t dare to speak to anyone yet, if you are already very confident with the language but you still want to get to a higher level of proficiency, if you want to know better about one of these cultures, than this is a perfect course for you.

My name is Ibrahim and I am here to teach you the essentials of Turkish Language. I got my university degree on law at Ankara University and subsequently finished my degree on MBA at Loyola University Quinlan school of Business in Chicago, USA. After professional life, I started teaching my language turkish to foreginers who want to speak turkish fluently. I have been teaching Turkish for over 5 years in a customized way with tailor-made course design. I use course materials produced mainly by myself as well as other grammer books and visuals. I use interactive teaching methods and encourage my students to speak confidently as well as to ask anything they have in mind. I am an English language teacher with a strong academic background and a love of languages. I enjoy helping people to develop their ability to use English in different contexts.

I have the internationally recognised Cambridge CELTA qualification (Pass A) in English language teaching. I am teaching English to those learning for professional reasons or academic study as well as those learning for personal reasons or holidays. I am able to teach all levels from beginner to advanced (CEFR Levels A1-C2). I usually teach adults.

I have studied social sciences to PhD level and have experience of working in universities as a researcher, including giving tutorials. I have also worked as a professional proofreader.

I speak British English and I have an appreciation of other varieties of English, sometimes referred to as ‘Global Englishes’, as well as the use of English as a ‘lingua franca’ or common language.

I have been trained in the ‘communicative approach’ to language teaching. This approach is based on the idea that the best way for us to learn a language is through using it in communication that is meaningful for us. My lessons will help you to learn English through using it in activities and tasks that are connected to your reasons for learning English and your wider interests. The lessons will include vocabulary, grammar and other aspects of language as well as the four skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing, depending on your priorities. I would like to have some background information about you, including why you are learning English, your professional and/or personal interests and your first language. I can then create lessons that meet your individual needs with activities that are personalised for you.

I have also been trained in teaching English online and I am familiar with a range of digital tools that can make the lessons effective and interesting. I am also familiar with several sources of professionally designed study materials that are publicly available for adaptation for different learners. I will give you feedback on your strengths and on how to improve. I can also give guidance on homework and other resources you can access, if this is of interest to you.

I have 25 years of experience as an organist in a church. I teach choirs for children and adults and I have been a piano teacher. I feel that my experience in teaching choirs and pianostudents and playing music is very fruitful for the way that I teach Danish. I have followed an intensive online Dutch course and as a student I think it works out very well. You are making progress very fast, because you speak a lot, and the teacher can take your speaking level as your starting point. I have a CEDILS certification.
In the first lesson I try to get an impression of the students, their attitude, cognitive style, needs, level of exposure to the language, motivation etc. I try an inductive - conversational approach first, I plan every lesson and I provide the student with a Google Drive file, anticipating contents and activities.Mostly I tend to work on what it's best for the students (ex. some of them prefer learning tables with grammar rules, verbs etc by heart, I make them understand that this is not considered the fastest nor most efficient way generally, but if it works for them I encourage it). I always try to make them capable of learn by their own and I want them to see me as a facilitator, a guide, not "the person who owns the knowledge". I keep my students focused by constantly stimulating them, asking questions, asking them to share thoughts and formulate hypotheses. Also I always provide explanations for what I do, why I do it in a certain way and at a certain time. I also use a manual.
I often propose topics related to intercultural themes, news, environment, LGBT+ but also tv series, movies and so on, I discuss with students what they'd like to work on and I find or create from scratch activities for them.

Hello! My name is Andrei, and I'm a professional theater director and educator from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. I teach theater all over the world - in Europe and the USA, and I teach Russian online for anyone who studies Russian and loves Russian culture.
Learning and teaching languages is my passion. As a theater director, I interact with Russian language and Russian literature on daily basis, so, when teaching Russian, I strive to share my love of it and spread my knowledge.
No less than Russian, I love English, which allows me to communicate with the world. In 2018, I won a Fulbright competition and as a Fulbrighter and Visiting Scholar I taught Russian theater techniques at two American universities - The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The University of Illinois at Chicago. This experience helped me improve my spoken English and convinced me that language is a powerful tool for cultural exchange.

Qualifications & Experience
As a tutor, I've been teaching Russian online for about 2 years. During this time I've taught around 50 students - from beginners to advanced. Among my students I have had an American military pilot, an American embassy officer in Kazakhstan, dozens of college students, and others. I've gained some experience in diagnosing student problems and finding effective tactics to improve their skills.
As a person who was trained a lot in voice and speech class during my studies in the Saint-Petersburg State Theater Arts Academy, I can also help you significantly improve your pronunciation.

Teaching Approach
I believe that it's not enough to learn grammar and vocabulary to master a foreign language. One has to be immersed into a real language, a language people really speak, which is always different from those versions we encounter in various textbooks.
On the other hand, it seems to me important to show students higher examples of the Russian language - the literary language. It's essential to know which speech sounds good and to distinguish it.
I mainly rely on conversational practice. However, as to their homework, I strongly recommend students to listen to Russian speech using various videos and podcasts, and I give them four special techniques for working with these types of materials. I firmly believe that listening can create the basis for future communication skills. There's no doubt that children begin to speak imitating the speech of their parents.
During my lessons I use "Russian in Exercises" written by S.A. Khavronina and A.I. Shirochenskaya - a book published in 2014, which became a bestseller among those who teach Russian as a foreign language, "53 Models of Russian Grammar" by T.M. Dorofeeva and M.N. Lebedeva, various exercises, tables and games, as well as interviewing and retelling.

My mother tongue is Spanish. I have teached Spanish for more than 5 years and I help my students, children and adults, to get confidence and improve fast.
With children I use games and other dynamic activities to keep their attention and interest when learning the language.
With adults, I focus on their goals for learning Spanish and I use interactive methods to help them to achieve progress in the areas they might need such as speaking, reading and listening.
